My wedding ceremony was at city Hall down the street so we had reserved the restaurant for a halal lunch for roughly 20 people for 2 hours. We were quoted a price and told it would include a salad and an entree with a piece of chicken and a dessert. I was not to have onions on my plate , and they said when we arrived there would be bottles on the table for non alcoholic drinks. We decided to order what was supposed to be a wedding cake from a bakery and PG said they would provide their cake display, at a price of 40 EUR. When we arrived , late, the only steps they had taken to prepare was to shove tables together, with cutlery ready. There was no tablecloths despite it being a wedding. Regular juice glasses , no wine glasses for water. We waited over 15 minutes for water. He plunked down plastic bottles of pop in front of us, no decanters used for beverages. I had a 2 l plastic bottle of coke in front of me , the bride, in a satin wedding dress and veil. After over 30 minutes he put 3 small baskets of bread on the tables to be followed by salad. The salad was wilted lettuce with one slice of each: tomato, cucumber, and egg. And oddly, covered in fried onions. The entree turned out to be rice pilaf with a half dozen miniscule pieces of diced rubbery chicken. It was very embarrassing to serve an entree that didn't even have a cut of meat like a chicken breast but only a few diced pieces of meat. Why they felt this would be appropriate, especially for a Canadian bride, is beyond me. When my husband and his friend prepared the cakes the cake stand was a cheap and filthy white plastic with several noticeable cracks and missing plastic and stains. One cake almost fell on me multiple times when it was being cut and I had to hold the plate on the stand the entire time. The few staff walked past my table to take smoke breaks every 15 minutes Afterwards they argued for an amount higher than what was agreed upon. I knew my lunch reception was not going to be fancy but I was embarrassed and mortified this was what I received. It's very low class and I wouldn't recommend eating lunch here never mind booking...
Read moreWe visited this lovely French halal restaurant in Paris. It was a very enjoyable experience from start to finish made so by a very sweet and helpful server and the delicious gourmet food. Our server explained the menu to us in English and gave us her recommendation for fish soup. I will admit, I was a bit apprehensive about soup with fish in it but this was very good and was just what we needed on a cold rainy day. We also had the mint tea which was perfect. We ordered the chef's special of the day which comes with a soup, an entree, and dessert. My husband ordered the steak with green pepper sauce and was left speechless after the first bite, it was delectable. The fried potatoes seemed to seasoned with some herb and garlic and salt and were quite refreshing after eating fries for a week...these were basically the same thing, just cut in a different way. Scrumptious nonetheless. We basically devoured every morsel of the meal and had no room for dessert....but....we had dessert. Creme Brulee...my first time having it.....yep..worth it. The serving size is big and definitely worth the price for fresh gourmet food. We hope...
Read moreWent at 6.30pm on Thursday and there wasnt really a crowd. Was pretty much just our family of 6 and a 2-3 other couples. Nice ambience, and staffs (1 male and 1 female) were very friendly and nice, which made the whole experience even better. I would say food was very good and Most points goes to being able to try french cuisine, mainly escargot and the onion soup and amazing duck confit. My family surprisingly like the potatoes as a side 😂 so I guess you can give those a go. We tried their desserts too (tiramisu and creme brulee) the diabolo drinks are good too (peach, melon and strawberry). Overall price is slightly on the higher end so be prepared for that, but nothing too expensive to be honest. But as a tourist, having a halal option to try out some local cuisine made it all a worthwhile experience. So Id say give it a go! Just one other thing which probably wont really happen often (or I hope so) is that the card machine was broken so we had to withdraw from a nearby cash point. not really an issue but just thought of letting you know.
Also couldnt take any pictures of the food cause we inhaled...
