Food was what to be expected at a reasonable price. I finally was introduced what I would say a little rude behavior. Once head inside the greeter says something in French I say for one he greets me when can say hello, my error he is right we can I say hello I get seated. Next the waiter a friendly one suggest something wine not too forward but enough where I oblige. I ask about a dew dishes he kindly says what I need to hear and I order. While sitting there I waive over the greeter as my waiter has not approached me again. He says, I ask for more wine he says of course but muffles something under his breath. He goes around doing other things serving others wine I continue finishing my meal and since no more need more wine when he finally tells my waiter that I need more wine my meal has been completed. The waiter comes I tell him no more and he seems confused. He ask the greeter the greeter says loudly he says he’s done with wine, ok. I ask for the bill leave a tip and thank the waiter. Not sure if this is common but the meal was good. I would recommend going there for the beef bourguignon and the frog legs.

A bistro known for its amazing wine list that thus should be on the itinerary of every wine lover visiting Paris. Here is what I can say about my diner there: First, the selection of wine is really good. From top Domaines to smaller producers, from the super expensive to more modest yet intriguing options. I spotted a couple of old vintages as well, which especially for Burgundy, gets pretty rare these days. We opted for a beautiful Chassagne Montrachet 2014 by Etienne Sauzet and a bottle of Vosne Romanee by Arnoux Lachaux. Both were very fairly priced. The wine list is online which is always great for some research in advance, however the availability and prices were out of sync between the online copy and the actual wine list. Happens. So how about the food? Actually I really enjoyed it, from the charcuterie and smoked salmon for starters to our mains of steak and Bœuf Bourguignon. Quality and preparations were spot on. So overall definitely a place all wine lovers should have in mind!

This bustling Parisian bistro has the most impressive wine list my sommelier partner has ever seen for a restaurant in this classification. The menu of bistro Staples does not disappoint. The interior is brightly lit and was energetic even on the weeknight that we paid our visit. This clearly is a local find. I surmised that most patrons were from the area or passing through the massive Gare de Montparnasse across the street. Food choices are presented on a chalkboard. If your French is rusty or non-existent? I'd recommend getting familiar with Google translates camera function. The app is remarkable for decoding the choices in an instant. We discovered that the staff had English well under their belt, but we always choose not to go there if we can avoid it. Enough about us. Food and wine selections are five stars. The setting authentically Parisian the location impossible to beat if you're on the go. Clearly this is a restaurant of some note. I encourage you to visit.

  • This is a review for the wine store located on 39 Rue Daguerre

Tucked away on the bustling Rue Daguerre in Paris's Left Bank, there's a wine store that feels like a serene escape from the city's frenetic energy. Unlike many of the wine stores in the city, this one is a cherished local spot that exudes community charm, affiliated with the renowned Le petit sommelier de Paris, known for its excellent wine menu that pairs seamlessly with classic Parisian cuisine.

The selection of wines here is both classic and expansive, a treasure trove for collectors and casual enthusiasts alike. It's a place where you can build a diverse and sophisticated cellar, with standout offerings from Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhône, Beaujolais, Champagne, and Loire. The store also presents a carefully chosen array of wines from Spain, Italy, and Germany, adding an international flair to its lineup.

Remarkably, the prices at this wine store are as inviting as the selection itself. It's rare to find such unbeatable value for the quality on offer, making this a go-to destination for those in search of the best wine deals in the city.

At the helm of this oenophile's haven is Sommelier Nelson, whose expertise and passion for wine are palpable. Formerly managing the wine collection for the prominent Frenchie group, Nelson brings years of experience and a deep culinary understanding to his role. He's not just knowledgeable; he's a guide who can recommend the perfect wine for any season or occasion, ensuring each guest leaves with a bottle that's just right for them.

In this charming corner of Paris, you'll find more than just a wine store. It's a place where quality, value, and expertise come together, creating an experience that's as enriching as it is enjoyable. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting to explore the world of wine, this store on Rue Daguerre is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the finer...
