Good Food, But Dishonest Staff Ruined the Experience
While the food at comme chez soi was excellent, the behavior of two staff members at the cashier/reception area was shocking and completely unacceptable.
I witnessed a troubling incident where a customer returned to the restaurant after realizing she had left her phone behind. She asked the cashier/receptionist about it, but they denied seeing any phone. Determined to find it, the customer asked another staff member who had assisted her during her meal. This staff member confirmed that the phone had been given to the cashier.
What happened next was disturbing. The cashier pretended to look for the phone, but it was clear that they already had it—they were even charging it behind the counter! When the customer confronted them and proved it was her phone by showing her wallpaper (a photo of herself and her husband) and unlocking it, the two staff members continued to deny it was hers. One even made up a story about someone else asking them to charge the phone.
It was appalling to see the customer have to fight to get her own phone back. She was understandably upset, and everyone who witnessed the incident, including my friends and me, felt disappointed and angry.
The food at this restaurant is good, but having dishonest staff who are willing to lie and resist returning a lost item ruins the entire experience. These two cashiers should not be working in customer service, and I hope the management takes action to prevent such incidents...
Read moreWe had high hopes when dining at this restaurant earlier today, but an unfortunate incident completely ruined the experience. My sister accidentally left her phone at the restaurant and only realized it after we had already left. She immediately went back to inquire about it.
At first, the cashier, who also acts as the receptionist, claimed they hadn’t seen any phone. However, my sister decided to ask the staff member who assisted us during our meal. This staff member confirmed that they had handed the phone to the cashier. When confronted, the cashier and another staff member started pretending to look for the phone, but we noticed they were already charging it behind the counter!
When my sister identified the phone as hers and proved it by showing her wallpaper (a photo of her with her husband) and unlocking it, the two staff members tried to resist, claiming it wasn’t her phone. One even made up a story about someone asking them to charge it. It was clear they were lying and had no intention of returning the phone until they were caught.
This behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Instead of admitting their mistake and returning the phone, they chose to lie and cover it up. It left us extremely disappointed and frustrated. Trust is a key element in any customer service experience, and this restaurant completely failed in that regard.
We strongly advise others to be cautious when...
Read moreDO NOT RECOMMEND. The owners seem to be Chinese and as a Chinese person who came here to enjoy a buffet with her family, I overheard the comments the boss lady was making and it was downright rude. She made snide comments to the table next to us, about never seeing anyone eat like they do, and complained to the hibachi chef that someone had eaten a lot of the steaks and that they’re gonna go bankrupt at this point, so don’t give out steaks as much.
I understand being cheap, but to make rude comments like that knowing that most of the people in the restaurant wouldn’t understand her? I find that attitude appalling.
Food is overall okay, but wish there were more options; however, for the price it is a good deal. It is warm at best though, and sometimes oily. Horrible attitude with the staff though, and they won’t refill your empty water after a second time, and if you ask, they give a stink eye. I’ve been to several other restaurants in Paris owned by Chinese people, and none were as rude as the one here. If you’re gonna open a buffet, then let people eat what they want in the time limit without shaming them. It seems this owner does not understand that.
There are better buffets than this;...
