Never given a business a bad review but this one doesn’t even deserve a star. One star is for one staff who smiled to answer our question.

Maybe my expectation for The Peninsula hotel and the Le Rooftop was too high.

We arrived early in our cocktail dress and the first question Bartender asked was “Do you know that we have 60euro minimum?”

Well if we arrived dressed properly we probably read the info on the website. It’s early Sunday evening you are not busy.

No escort to the high chair bar table. The lounge sofas reserved for hotel guests. I understand that they have to cater to the hotel guests but same attentive service should be used for visitors if you are allowing us to visit.

Didn’t arrive with menu for about next 15 mins.

Two of us ordered a bottle of signature champagne and an appetizer.

Appetizer and champagne glasses arrived then we waited another 10minutes also for our champagne. Appetizer arrived messed up (in photos) too. After that no one came to check on us. We got up from our high chair to refill our own glasses.

There were 3-4 staff working and place wasn’t full. Certainly not what I expected from such a highly rated place.

The rule is simple I don’t give my business to people who doesn’t value my time and my money. This was second visit for my colleague and the first for me.

There are other rooftop bars that have better views in Paris, don’t bother wasting your time here unless you are staying with them? Posting Photos to prove that...

I visited Paris in June 2024 with family and friends. It was a very hot day, we decided to try Le Rooftop at the Peninsula Paris Hotel. We didn't have reservation. The concierge and the ladies at the lobby showed us the way up. At the rooftop we told the host we are in for drinks and not lunch or dinner. Since Bar side is separate from the restaurant. There were couple of small tables and a bar. We sat in a small table. The rooftop manager came to our table saying there is a minimum charge of 60 euros. When asked where is it mentioned, he said oh sorry we forgot to put the sign. When I asked him to kindly waive it since no one mentioned it and there is no sign, he refused. Just made sure he will call his downstairs colleagues to make sure they have the sign on. We were about to leave, I heard him talking on the phone to downstairs hosts by referring to us The Arab ladies and how we are complaining. So we got more upset by his behavior, no client respect and on top of it racist. We left the hotel with no one apologizing for the incident. Very rude staff as if they...

Rooftop bar with restricted view of the Eiffel tower, unless you walk around to the restaurant side which is only bookable by people that stay at the hotel.

Ambience and service at the rooftop bar is great. Staff are great but the height of the building is inline with the height of other surrounding buildings so there's not much to see.

While seated you either won't have a view or just be able to see the tip of the eiffel tower due to the layout of the rooftop. I've attached a photo of the view we had which was one of the highest seats available on the rooftop.

For minimum 30 euro per drink, we'd have liked a better...

NOTE: they have a dress code policy & you will need a reservation. Men need to wear pants. I found this place via Google and it does look stunning. Hard to locate and the name of the rooftop restaurant/bar is something else. The views are amazing, staff seemed friendly but I recommend a less crowded rooftop with even better views next door at hotel Raphael (Raphael La Terrasse). They dont have a dress code, walkins welcome and better views of both the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe.
