Lovely evening at the Bar Kléber
What's more amazing than an historic bar within an historic palace? After passing the bright and luminous grand lobby of the Péninsula, you may reach a contrasting rich, luxurious wooden, golden and ornamented décor. With the addition of the lovely covered terrace that stretches along the imposing entrance to the hotel, this is the fundamental sophisticated and cozy ambiance that awaits you at the Bar Kléber. Although it makes pictures quite a challenge, the dim lights really brings the mood to a chill and pleasant character. After a discreet welcome during an already advanced night, I was seated in the corner leather chair with full view on the bar action and the two majestic and gigantic albino peacock paintings, I hope it was intended as a nice wink to the other rooftop restaurant-bar called L'oiseau blanc. I definitely saw it as such. However, like other of my usual highly specific and odd questions, I was left unanswered. The only time we were addressed was for taking our order. The rest of the time, the staff was swirling and posing behind the bar. As professional as they were, I wish I could've been introduced to the head bartender or bar manager. I wish I could've found out if they truly use the Champagne Deutz special edition specially made for the Peninsula, the inspiration behind the cocktails or what was their favourite thing about the bar, for example. I understand a distant and inconspicuous service approach is a talent and advantage in many cases, but i'm more curious than normal people. In any case, we had a great time and great cocktails. The cocktails list is quite classic and classy in style with intricate combination of standard alcohol with fresh ingredients. I especially liked the Pen Fizz #2 (Timul pepper infused vodka, lychee, rose and raspberry cordial and of course Champagne). They were all fun and definitely tasteful. What a great way and place to meaningfully spend...
Read moreI have going to Paris on a regular basis for business since 2016 and I make sure to visit Le Bar Kléber every time. Not sure where to start… from the tasty drinks to the great selections of champagne and wine, it is difficult to make a choice. This is without talking about the selection of beautifully plated food in case you need a little something with your drink. Try the cheese plate. Over the years, I have introduced this establishment to many of my colleagues and they have become regular customers as well. The staff is very professional and attentive to all your needs and wants. I could not forgive myself if I did not mention Adama. He is literally the best and makes me feel like a million dollars (almost like a family member). I make a point to visit on the days he works. Can’t wait to my next trip to Paris in July to visit Le Bar Kléber again and see Adama. Merci pour l’excellent service...
Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of being served by two of the most exceptional team members I’ve ever encountered in my life which are frédéric and Matthieu at Le Bar Kléber in The Peninsula. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and warm, genuine hospitality elevated the entire experience far beyond my expectations.
They weren’t just efficient—they were intuitive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Every interaction felt personal and thoughtful, without being overbearing. It’s rare to see service this seamless and sincere.
Le Bar Kléber is already a stunning venue, but the way these two gentlemen looked after us made it unforgettable. I wish I had gotten their names—they truly deserve recognition.
If you go, I hope you’re lucky enough to be served by them. Thank you both for making our...
