This place is a total gem of a find. We often come to Paris which is our favorite city in the world and really love to dine at restaurants with great food.
We were around Champs-Elysees which can be very touristy and the restaurants in this area aren't great. I went on Google Maps to see if there were any highly rated restaurants and the only one that had a high score was Le Sens Unique which had an average rating of 4.5 stars.
We were very fortunate that it was early when we came in. It was about 5:15 PM and only one other table was there. It looked like they had just opened. They asked if we had a reservation and we did not. We thought this was just a cheesy line that many restaurants say but I could see the very nice hostess was checking the reservations and she looked concerned if she would be able to seat us but she sat my family of 5.
My wife and I love French food but we were worried about our kids and the menu is very French. We ordered several dishes and my kids loved the food as much as we did.
We ordered several French onion soups which was amongst the best I have had in Paris. We also got some mussels and a Shrimp linguine. We also ordered some French fries and potato gratin dish.
Everything was super delicious! I commented to the waitress that the food was excellent and that they deserved their high reviews on Google Maps. She thanked me for mentioning it. I told her the flavor profiles were incredible and she mentioned that she really appreciated the kind words. She said there are only 3 of them working there and they really work hard to provide great food.
As we were eating the place was filling up. It's a small place and fills VERY quickly. They were turning away several people by the time we finished our dinner. There were even people sitting outside in the cold to eat as they only had tables outside and people were willing to sit in the freezing cold to eat which is a testament to how delicious the food is.
The waitress was so friendly. This is definitely a MUST visit if you're in the area or if you're not it's worth coming to eat. We will try to come again before we leave Paris.
We rarely repeat restaurants during a trip as there are so many fine choices but this place is worth coming back to.
This place is 5/5 stars. It's also a beautiful and unique spot. It's not right on a busy street so it takes some work to get all of these people. I assume that people are all finding it from Google reviews. There were a lot of Asian clientele that looked to all be foodies and probably technology savvy and found it from the great reviews. This is exactly how technology should work in the...
Read moreThe staff were friendly and helpful. When I approached the bar to ask about the draught beer because it wasn't on the menu, the first waitress who spotted me came over to me, greeted me, explained, and offered the Belgium beer. which was fabulous.
Snails were the appetizer that we first selected. Oh my goodness, this was a fantastic appetizer. I was uncertain to eat it because I've never had it, but the waitress assured us that it was an authentic French dish that we should try. Six snails, served with French baguettes and what I assume was some form of pesto, were included. The waiter showed us how to eat it properly. At this point we were really confident with the advice we were receiving!
We ordered "Le magret de canard du Sud-Ouest rôti sur la peau, sauce au miel du périgord" for the main course, which is French for "Southwest duck breast roasted on the skin, Perigord honey sauce." Again, I was skeptical because I'm not used to eating it, but our waiter described how it's prepared and asked about my typical food preferences before I realized this was one of the nicest things I've ever had. I requested medium, and it was cooked to perfection. You can tell how it was cooked by looking at the photo I took when I cut the meat. The side potato was really wonderful.
The second meal was "Le confit de canard des Landes," which is French for "The duck confit of the Landes". Duck thigh served with potato and salad was crunchy. Another incredible dish.
We placed an order for a couple glasses of the French red wine "First coasts of Blaye, Château les Erits 2016". This was also the waitress's advice that had been given to us. This was fantastic!
The deserts were a must-try. I especially enjoyed this section. Considering how much I enjoy sweets, I can state with absolute certainty that their "homemade Ice cream" was the greatest. Along with the coffee, we also got three tiny pastries that were out of this world. In one of the photographs, you can see this one. There was a piece of fruit that was so amazing that I have no words to describe it, as well as a piece of chocolate cake that was amazing.
From the service to the food, drinks, and reasonable prices, this was an excellent experience that I recommend to everyone. We appreciate you setting the bar higher and showing us what a great restaurant could be like. We'll be...

The staff was very friendly, professional, detail oriented, and understood good timing when it came to service. As someone who use to be a waiter myself, I appreciate the level of care they took in their service.
The atmosphere was very intimate and classy. The location was great
Cons:
The food was over priced and did not taste good. We had 3 dishes, no drinks, it was over 100 euros, and we couldn't even finish it.
Escargot: it was 30 euros for 12. This was almost twice as expensive as majority of the restaurants offering it. I figured it must be good if they are charging this price, it was only ok. The escargot itself was perfectly cooked, texture was soft but had enough of a bit that left a good much feel. However, it was very undersalted. The taste was rich in butter and garlic but had no tang of salt to bring the flavor through. In the end, it just tasted like flesh marinating in butter with no particular depth of flavor.
Calf Kidney: 39 euro. I have had inners in the past and was prepared for a certain level of gameness, but this was just unpleasant. The kidney texture was cooked perfectly medium rare as requested, the sauce was creamy, well balanced, with just a sweet kick. The taste came in waves (this is usually a good sign of culinary excellency), but it just came in a bad way. It started with a creamy and sweet taste of the sauce, and just ended with a strong, gamey taste of boiled kidney. Usually the sauce should balance out the kidney taste, but this one just temporarily hid it before I came crashing through. After 4 bites, my mouth was just covered in rich sauce but couldn't get the gamey after taste out. I couldn't finish the rest.
Duck: 30 Euros. Very dry. Duck itself is a fatty cut of meat. I was expecting tender protein, but got very stringy meat. The taste was average but no depth in flavor.
Over all, I was pretty disappointed. I saw others have given this place high reviews praising their escargot. The menu looked unique with some daring dishes. The staff was professional, the atmosphere was charming. However, the food just didn't...
