Walked in today to grab some lunch and work. Got welcomed by a very nice and polite waitress, who has found a spot for me at a long table in a meeting room. I’ve warned her that I’ve had an important call at noon and asked if I could call and then order. She said « No problem » and has also informed me that I’ll be moved to the main room if I want to stay and work on my laptop after lunch time. So far, so good. In the middle of my call, another waitress came in, has interrupted my call in a very rude manner and was outraged when I told her that I’ll place my order once I’m done with my call, in 30 minutes. She rudely argued that there will be a meeting here at 2.30pm, after the lunchtime (which I was already told about) . And it was only 12.30pm as we were speaking….
When I was done with the call, I’ve waited for 15 minutes, signaling all the time the second waitress (the outraged one) that I would like to make an order. She hasn’t even budged. Caught a different server and placed an order with him. When received, the taste was very average - fish was tasteless and the combo with peanuts and ginger-infused carrots wasn’t really a success. No really to my liking.
Also, they’ve tried to make me pay two different drinks. First, brought me a bill with an espresso that I haven’t order (but which was order by one of the couples at the other end of the table, but not paid). Upon my complaint, they’ve brought a different bill, with café allongé instead of espresso, ordered by the lady at the neighboring table. All that, given that I’m allergic to coffee…
On a bright side, the decoration and the location are nice. But...
Read moreA “happening snack bar” you’re better off skipping. Two and a half stars. Le Shack’s limited menu and even more limited service staff (poor lady was running around servicing the entire place) makes it a place - unless you’re in great company and forget your order and don’t care what you eat - to pass on and go to another of the wonderful places around. I was first given the typical Parisian snub “oh! No reservation? It’ll be hard to seat you”, then one minute later I’m at a table. The red wine, billed as “tannic” tasted more like a corked 2$ bottle than anything done by a sane winemaker. The waitress, seeing my face, agreed to change it, I’m not sure she did, she came back with what supposedly was a different wine that tasted exactly the same. I didn’t argue. It took forever (by Parisian standards) to take my order and even longer (again by Parisian standards) for it to arrive. The cheese platter I ordered was a sorry excuse of a few bits and ends of cheese blocks. Tho I was famished, I left half of it behind, as I did my wine. I do not recommend this place. Paris has so much more to offer, settling for a place like this is an error one...
Read moreA true gem for corporate events in central Paris! We cover many corporate events throughout the year, and we had a fantastic experience recently at Le Shack. This venue truly stands out from typical conference spaces in every way. It combines unique architecture, a warm and conviviale atmosphere, and excellent natural lighting thanks to the glass ceiling—it feels open and vibrant, not closed-in like many traditional or hotel venues. From a photographer’s perspective, it’s a real pleasure to work in: great lighting, a real bar area that adds a relaxed, authentic vibe—perfect for networking and candid shots. The staff were professional, warm, and incredibly helpful, and they even provided a storage room for the event team. Le Shack also offers an entire floor of meeting rooms and offices for hire, making it ideal for flexible corporate use. Plus, it’s ideally located just steps from Opéra, Galeries Lafayette, and Place Vendôme. Highly recommended for any brand or company looking for a stylish, well-run...
