Not bad, but sometimes, despite the food was ok-ish... we had a really bad logistical experience of 'debutante' staff and management.
Foodwise, I really like the tone which is very much a Mediterranean experience in Paris. The artichokes themselves, no real flavour, but luckily the jerusalem artichoke with the duxelle of paris mushroom lifted the plate. The octopus salad was a hit, fresh where Thailand meets marseilles. Nice one.
the Irish kind of socca with the burrata Boxty, fresh, nice and really flavourome, very similar to what we had at the Atelier in Nice with socca instead. it was better as it had more flavour. But a nice course in the end. The lasagna minute, not the best success especially at that price.
But overall even though the food was OK; despite really nice waiters and staff, the place lacks logistic attention. our courses forgotten, the table aside us not cleaned from starters when the main courses arrived.
Can't have the client dealing with basic logistical management.
And top of the sad story, while most of the tables are booked online, meaning that the number of potential desserts required would have been known ahead..... we were one of the tables where desserts from Jeffrey Cagnes were just all sold out.... so disappointing end of an OK meal.
Need some strong work here. foodwise, the price of the area, loads of nice ideas, but not up to scratch.
Ending on a positive note: the Eclectique cocktail is a sumptuous revisited spritz with amazing flavour. Good one.
Overall, we would do better for our friends...
Read moreWe arrived at this beautiful setting at 17.30, exhausted and hungry, and decided to look no further with such a wonderful location to enjoy the rest of our evening. On arrival we were told food service wouldn’t start until 18.00 so we sat in the Palais grounds for half an hour. At 18.00 we sat down and ordered a bottle of wine but were then told food service didn’t start until 19.00. As we hadn’t eaten during a busy day walking around Paris we asked if at least a little bread could come to help soak up the wine. This request produced a look of scorn from the manager and was treated with contempt. Whilst told “we can see what we can do” nothing appeared. At 19.00 we asked again about food and were then told service wouldn’t be until 19.30! Fully invested (and almost through the wine) we dutifully stayed. At 19.20 we were asked to pay for the wine as the waitress was finishing her shift. At 19.30 all staff disappeared for a photo shoot for their new uniforms as locals, who clearly knew the actual opening times, arrived to eat. They sat and waited. At 19.40 the same waitress returned to service. At 19.50, with not a single order being taken, and no sign of food being prepared, we left. Sorry for the average mark on the food - I shouldn’t really comment on this as in 2 hours we...
Read moreWent there for lunch on my birthday and were seated very close to the entrance where they had loud music playing, which we found quite disturbing. First waitress didn't take any action after we asked to turn the volume down twice. Third attempt was successful, they put the volume down until a fourth waiter turned it up again and just a bit down after our 4th remark. Waiter made a "funny" comment when we left, that now finally they could turn the volume up again. They offered a beverage to compensate, but we just felt like leaving. Could have taken the espresso from the bill but didn't.
Food is good but couldn't compensate for this unpleasant experience. Other tables would have been available and we were disappointed by the staff's reaction. I get that music is a matter of taste but is it so complicated to turn it down the time of a...
