During my recent visit to Paris, I had the chance to dine at Ma Cocotte, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. Tucked away in a lively area, the restaurant carries a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately sets the stage for a memorable meal. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by the waiter, which instantly set a friendly tone for the evening. The service throughout was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff went above and beyond to make the experience smooth and enjoyable. They were extremely nice, asking about our preferences and giving us thoughtful recommendations that matched what we enjoy, adding a personal touch that made the meal even more special. The standout dish for me was without a doubt the French onion soup. I’ve tried this classic in many different places, but Ma Cocotte’s version completely raised the bar. The broth was deeply savoury, perfectly balanced between sweet caramelised onions and rich beef stock, topped with a layer of melted, golden cheese that pulled away in satisfying strands with every spoonful. It was hearty, comforting, and hands down the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. The beef steak followed and didn’t disappoint either. Cooked exactly to my liking, it arrived with a beautifully seared crust that gave way to a tender, juicy centre. The flavour was bold yet refined, and it was served with just the right accompaniments to let the quality of the meat shine through. Each bite was a reminder of why French steakhouses have such a strong reputation. For dessert, I went with the crème brûlée, which was the perfect way to finish off the evening. The top layer cracked with a satisfying tap of the spoon, revealing smooth, creamy custard beneath. It was sweet, but not overwhelming, and rounded out the meal wonderfully. Overall, Ma Cocotte delivered an excellent dining experience. Between the warm welcome, the outstanding food, and the genuinely kind staff, it’s a restaurant I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone...
Read moreMe and my wife stooped here for a lunch, we were really hungry and looked for a place with decent reviews (you’ll have a hard time finding one in the nearby). This seemed ok but the food was really bad: we ordered a croque madame and oeufs en meurette (ordered several other times in Paris) and honestly unacceptable, both in presentation and taste. Not decent, regardless the money.

Read moreUnfortunately I can’t give a zero or I would. First of all the waiter is rude and seemed bothered he had to serve us. He brought the water we asked for and no glasses to drink out of. One guest ordered a Coca Cola Zero and he brought two of them and tried to charge both of them. He brought a salad for me and a friend to share and no plates to eat from. Had to ask several times for the glasses and plates and never got the plate. He forgot to enter my meal all together and then had them rush on it and ended up bringing me raw salmon I couldn’t cut through. When I brought it to his attention there was no apology or concern. He could care less. The restaurant was empty which should have been the red flag not to eat there. People you have...
