Monsieur Poirot was an unexpected delight. The food was delicious, the wine was lovely, but the most outstanding quality of this restaurant to me was its charismatic staff. In our week in Paris we ate at a variety of restaurants, some of which had Michelin stars. The one that had the most resounding effect on me though was Monsieur Poirot. I tip my hat to the magnanimous Chanel and to the mesmerizing Lauris, both amazingly beautiful & soulful human beings. I only took one photo from the evening & I’ll leave it here though it doesn’t reveal much about the heart and soul of this restaurant. We hope to return to Paris in the near future and when we do, Monsieur Poirot will be on the top of our list to visit.

Staff was lovely! The only proble I had is that my plate (mash and stew) was a bit lukewarm/cold but when I asked and they heated up right away. I was expecting a discount for that to be honest as I had to wait more. But that apart, nice place and atmosphere. If you are staying at Ibis is like 2 mins walking so worth it. They have a room with wines you can pick up, adding €7 euros to the price of the wine. I am not sure if this is a thing in Paris, but thought it was really cool! Our bill was around €87 and we had: starter, main, desert, a bottle of red so for a big night out is kind of okay.

Easily the best place we’ve eaten in Paris, ironically for the atmosphere and the staff more so than the food. I had the cheeseburger which came with quite a lot of salad & sauce even though it didn’t say that on the menu. In hindsight, my own fault because I didn’t check with the waitress, because of that, I didn’t end up eating a huge amount of my burger. The staff noticed this straight away and offered me something else, which I politely declined but then they gave us two shots on the house! The staff were so friendly and chatty, genuinely interested in you. Merci beaucoup!

A really lovely place to dine. We were a couple with a small dog. The staff were excellent, especially our waitress. After a really warm welcome we were brought our menus. When we enquired about the wine list we were directed to a wne cave below stairs where we could pick our own wine from a large selection. We picked a bottle we had not tried before and it was delicious. The experience only got better aftetwards with delicious food for a vegetarian and a meat eater. The owner even offered the dog a small dish of proscuitio ham. We came to the bistrot because we loved the name and in our six week stay in France it was our favourite meal. The prices were very affordable and if we are ever back in Paris, we will return there...
