We have visited Montecito on New Year’s Eve.
Food: Average to good Service: Average to good Pric-performance: Not Good
Explanation: The food has a good quality and the design of the dishes is very artistic. However, for the price, especially for a lobster pasta for 45€, the quality does not justify the price. You receive 15 noodles with 15 small pieces of lobster with a good quality. However, there are other restaurants such as La Coupole where you can eat great lobster for half the price.
Rating the service is a bit difficult as it was New Year’s Eve and it was crowded, however, everyone seems to be very keen and friendly. Unfortunately there were two big tables which each waiter and waitress focused on - the ones that make most of the revenues. From start to finish the focus on our table and on the other tables declined by the staff.
I have eaten in many great restaurants with excellent food (I.e. ciel de paris, etc.), however, it seems that Montecito is more a please to be than a place to receive extraordinary food for the given price. To sum up, the food quality is good as well as the service, however for the given price, I cannot recommend to...
Read moreOverall, the lobster roll at Montecito left much to be desired. The minimal amount of lobster and the overwhelming presence of sauce were major drawbacks, diminishing the overall experience. I had hoped for a delicious and satisfying lobster roll, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.
First and foremost, the quantity of lobster in the roll was extremely underwhelming. I was expecting a generous portion of succulent lobster meat, but instead, it felt like a mere afterthought. The lobster was overshadowed by an excessive amount of sauce, which completely overpowered the delicate flavor of the seafood. It seemed as though the sauce was used to compensate for the lack of lobster, which was truly disappointing.
Furthermore, the sauce itself was not particularly remarkable. It lacked depth and complexity, tasting rather generic and heavy-handed. It failed to enhance the natural sweetness of the lobster or add any interesting flavor profiles to the dish. Instead, it drowned out any potential enjoyment I could have had from the...
Read moreProbably 3.5 stars, but I wanted to vote “up” and not down a star. This place is modern, trendy (not French cuisine) attached to a hotel in a high-tourist area. It was convenient, pleasant and menu offered my daughter a change of pace from the traditional French cuisine I had been emphasizing.
Excellent hamburgers correctly prepared to doneness order and wonderfully seasoned fries (first time I had ever eaten burger in Paris, by the way.) Really generous portions. Friendly staff. Very modern setting, but atmosphere great for a leisurely lunch. Would be a good stop for family traveling with teens who might need some “familiar” flavors and a juicy burger. And a fully staffed bar churning out great cocktails will be welcome...
