This place is quite unique in Paris. It is a Chinese restaurant near Gallery, Lafayette and Palace Garnier. It’s been there for years. The reason for going, however, is not the food which is just fine but the total atmosphere. The highlight and it’s been this way for years is the lady in charge. Time has marked this beautiful lady who pushes the trolley around as she brings you food shuffling away! When she takes the order, she’ll sit next to at the table because she’s tired. From time to time she’ll glance at the cat, which is a famous staple of this restaurant (and not included in the food). You may even glance at the goldfish that it kept in a food washing bowl, far away on the restaurant. Don’t mistake these words to suggest that the place is anything but absolutely pristine clean and the food is good. However, you must go to this restaurant to visit the beautiful lady in charge, meter. She takes your order slowly, with a broad smile, and then shuffles with her trolley to bring you your food.restaurants are more than food but experiences and this...
Read moreWe found this restaurant nearby, since we went to visit Palais Garnier. The place looked really nice from the outside and the inside had a big open floor, food was not bad. But our waitress had an attitude, after we got most of our plates, we asked for the status of the last plate, a certain type of meat and instead of just telling us they don't have it, she was yelling across the room telling us that she told us in the beginning they don't when we first ordered. So we cancelled that plate since we realized we had enough to eat already. Then when we were ready to pay the check, we took out our credit card, the same waitress said they prefer cash, even though on their front door and window clearly has accept 💳 credit cards displayed. Another waitress was nice enough to walk over and asked how we were doing and took our credit card and paid. We will not come...
Read moreOpera Mandarin has been a culinary delight since I arrived in the UK & France 17 days ago. Their Chinese cuisine has left an indelible mark, particularly with perfectly steamed fish, which tastes like my wife's cooking, with a delicate balance of flavours and textures that showcase culinary mastery. The fried chilli pork ribs were a revelation, offering a delightful fusion of crispiness and spice that tantalised my taste buds. The hot and spicy soup, a symphony of aromatic spices and rich broth, provided a comforting warmth that made it a standout dish. The restaurant's commitment to authenticity and quality ingredients shines through, making each dining experience a memorable journey through the vibrant flavours of Chinese cuisine. Opera Mandarin has become a gastronomic haven for me during my European...
