When I say I had the best meal of my life here I say that without hesitation. This hidden little gem was as always decided upon according to Yelp reviews. Since the boy and I had no idea where we were we went here because it was the best rated places closest to where we were. Took a second to find the storefront but once we did it was the coolest thing ever. We approached the door and it slid open like in an old Star Trek movie (showing my age, lol)! Once inside we were greeted to a modern space made comfortable by all the wood. It was an off time for Parisians to eat so the place was not crowded at all. There were a few patrons inside but we were able to get a seat immediately. The waiter was a handsome black man that spoke English very well. He was helpful with the wine selection and offered a few choices for our meal. He gave us a few moments and came back for our order. On his recommendation I selected the Caïus-Bonus - Quinoa, melon, amandes, petit pois, brocolis, radis, fruit de la passion, citron au sel not know what it was but I loved anything with quinoa and radishes 😍 The waiter recommended the best white wine to go with our dish and he was off to the kitchen. He was back really quickly with the wine and it was delicious. I can’t recall the name of it but who cares right, I WAS IN PARIS lol! Decided to take the boy to the restroom before our food came and when we came out we were hit with a smell of heaven. We sat at out table and I couldn’t resist. I asked another gentleman working there if he could tell me what it was I was smelling and he said, “That is your food”🤑🤑🤑 I was overwhelmed and could not wait for it to arrive. When it did I was blown away. It was a perfectly composed salad in the best tasting bread bowl you have ever seen. What was the smell you are wondering...it was the brown bread smothered in BUTTER AND SUGAR!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯 After taking a million pictures of it I could not wait to cut into it. It immediately crunched under my knife and then slid though the salad. After 1 bite I was SHOOK. I am going back to my original statement and saying THIS WAS THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE and it was a salad!! As you all know I am a foodie and am pretty discerning when it comes to food so when I say its good take it to the bank. The entire dish was perfectly sized for me and the boy but we are not big eaters so it could be a nice accompaniment to a meat dish if you are a meat eater or American, lol. The services was great as well as the prices. We walked away satiated and smiling....

We sat in the middle bar area adjacent to another couple served at roughly the same time. Unfortunately for us, we got the taller (of the two) waiters to serve us. This tall server made us feel extremely uncomfortable from the high pressured sales tactics at the beginning (we're small people and we don't eat much) but was aggressively suggested to order yet another dish (because "the restaurant was fully booked" which wasn't the case in the 2.5hr duration we were there - they were at most 75% occupied). After submitting our order (which included "non-gas water"), we sat there for about 25 minutes with zero service. Meanwhile, the couple adjacent to us had their water immediately served and poured in their cups. When I kindly reminded our waiter of our missing water, he slaps the wet bottle down our table and that was it - didn't bother pouring it for us or show any kind of remorse. The meal experience went downhill from thereon. I don't understand what we did to deserve this kind of treatment when all we offered was respect? Just terrible and...
Read moreWe had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Looking for a casual yet charming spot for dinner, we were initially drawn in by its inviting ambiance. Our meal started off well, the cauliflower soup and rillettes were delicious, but unfortunately, the main course fell short.
Having traveled through Lyon, Beaune, Dijon, and Auxerre, we had high expectations for Parisian cuisine. However, the beef bourguignon was a letdown. The sauce was thin and watery, the flavors were bland, and the meat lacked depth, which was surprising for a slow-cooked dish known for its richness.
When we shared our feedback with the staff (even adding that I might be mistaken about the traditional preparation), their response was simply to offer salt and pepper rather than relaying the concern to the chef.
It left us wondering if our opinion was disregarded because we weren’t French. Having enjoyed beef bourguignon at other restaurants across France, I can confidently say this was the most underwhelming version I’ve had. To top it off, we were charged an additional €6 for it, making the experience even more disappointing.
Overall, while the restaurant has its charms, our meal did not live up to expectations, and the lack of attentiveness to feedback left us...
