Define step above usual Italian fare • Comfortable relaxed place, featuring dishes that elevate and improve on classic northern Italian dishes. The vignarola Romana was a spring green perfection of peas, favas and snow peas, with a brilliant topping of sharp but mellow pecorino ice cream. The vitello tonnato was textbook. Main plats were perfect tender ravioli stuffed with ricotta and topped with smoked fish eggs, and a nice rouget that was a bit flawed by too much salt from the olive stuffing and prosciutto wrapping. We split a clever bavaroise with strawberries, rhubarb and rose. Wine list is good, with nice variety of Italians, but like many Paris restaurants recently, more ambitiously priced. Good service. Recommended and...

My partner and I traveled to Paris for my birthday and we dined at Il Cuoco on our first night in the city. While we had anticipated sharing a few small plates and then one pasta, we were roundly told by the sommelier that no, we had to each get the lemon seafoam linguine that we were eyeing because it was that good. She was correct. We enjoyed immensely the roasted leeks, as well. We drank an absolutely delicious bottle of Marte Spumante (woman-owned, perfect!) at her suggestion and finished the night with complementary limoncello. The dining experience was vivacious, sharp, and memorable....

This Italian gem in the 9th arrondissement is undoubtedly one of my favorite places to dine. The food is consistently excellent, with obvious care put into the preparation and a clear focus on robust flavors—it's always delicious. The service matches the quality of the meals, with a friendly staff that makes every visit a pleasure.

One highlight is the open kitchen, where guests can watch the chefs artfully crafting each dish. This place is a strong contender for the best Italian dining experience in the area. I highly recommend it, and will certainly keep...

During our Paris visit, we stumbled upon Il Cuoco Galante, the charming Italian sibling of our beloved Braisenville next door. Having fallen in love with Braisenville on previous trips, we thought—why not try its Italian counterpart for lunch? Sitting outside on the terrace, we enjoyed the sunshine, attentive service, and wonderfully prepared dishes. We ordered pasta and fish, sharing everything across the table as we always do, each bite confirming this was a gem worth discovering. A perfect blend of relaxed atmosphere and delicious flavors—highly recommended.

Bonjour !
