DAME — Restaurant in Paris

One of the best restaurants in Paris. I’d been to their sister restaurant Bonhomme which was amazing too so had to try this spot which slightly differs from your usual restaurant. The concept is that you can order every dish for 1, 2 or 4 which allows for more of a sharing concept. We tried all the starters and they were all so tasty. The mayo eggs were superb, apparently they won some award for them. The octopus carpaccio was divine and transported me from Paris to Greece for a minute. For mains, the duck was an absolute treat and I must admit; and slightly more tasty than the porc with chimichurri which was also great. Fries were delicious, with cajun spice on top and reminded a bit of the Five Guys fries. Finally the brownie for dessert was a must and you can’t go wrong with it!

Service was faultless also; the restaurant owner Max made us feel at home and his charm and funny jokes kept us entertained all night.

Restaurant is fairly small so best to book in advance. I think going with 4 people is the best option as you’ll get to try a bit of everything.

PS: try the apricot liquor for a taste of something really special!

This restaurant overturns all of the shibboleths regarding eating in Paris, for overseas visitors. Table for eight booked on Friday afternoon for Friday evening and we could not have been made more welcome. The staff here go above and beyond to make one feel at home and appreciated. There is a real feel of the local restaurant in terms of ambience and clientele, and correspondingly one is made immediately comfortable and part of the milieu within. The food is excellent across the board, with the duck being a standout; perfectly rendered but still pink. The wine list is replete with interesting bottles, whilst the mark-up is reasonable for a central location in the capital; we enjoyed the Huet Vouvray in its sec and moelleux formats and the choice of the Bandol, by the sommelier, was inspired. One of my favorite restaurants in Paris! A must-go if you’re a culinary lover. Exquisite food, the place is really beautiful (amazing design, the toilets are really unique), great wine selection and staff is very friendly. It’s a perfect place for a dinner date, or other special occasions. It’s not the restaurant you would go to every week (depending on your budget) but definitely the one you’d like to keep for the highlight of your week.
