One of the best sushi place I've ever tried outside of Japan, and I've ate sushi at alot of places.
The restaurant is a bit secluded but easy to find, interior of the place was very normal/basic Japanese, wasn't pretentious or anything. I went in for lunch on a Friday and service was fast as it wasn't crowded. Menu was extensive and there was so much to chose from. I got a little out of hand and ordered too much.
Started with salmon salad and gyoza (soya sauce was combined with rice vinegar adding some flavour into it). Both highly recommended. The vegetables for the salad was fresh and crunchy just how it should be. The avocado had the right hardness, not too hard and not too mushy. As a side, ordered the chicken thigh yakitori and meat was cooked to perfection.
The rice for the sushi was the perfect flavour. The cheese for the salmon roll tasted like Neufchatel instead of normal cream cheese. My most favourite was the salmon sashimi. Surprisingly, not from Norway but Scotland instead. Fresh and the firmness of the texture melted in my mouth.
Was too full to try the dessert. Reasonably priced for a Japanese place in Paris. Would definitely drop by again next time...

Unfortunately all of that was unavailable they could only serve cold food and rice. Which was fine since I wanted sushi. Interestingly they had never heard of a rainbow roll so I ordered some sort of boat-shaped platter number two and the irony was what I got was a series of little rice patties with fish on top, I think this is called nigiri. The irony being there were a bunch of these each with a different kind of fish in effect it was a rainbow roll after all.
The staff were very friendly the fish was nice, soft, and without any odor. And the restaurant has been there for years so I figure it must have been doing something right. I look forward to trying again in the future when the hot food...
Read moreI think I made a bad decision by ordering the Oyakodon. It was terrible, not authentic, or the way it is traditionally prepared, and I could eat only a few bites. The chicken was crispy, deep fried and thrown in heaps on top of just a small amount of rice, with the egg barely visible and not detected by taste at all. There is a traditional saucieness that is the dish, as well, and it was missing. Probably because the egg was over cooked and not runny at all. I was hoping for a nice comfort meal, and it just was not what it should have been. (my hotel confirmed my disappointment and said others...
