My reviews reflect only MY experience AT the time. Places can improve OR decline. So be understanding & consider other reviews to form your opinion.

Cuisine: Japanese (or so it claims) Date of Visit: August 27, 2023, 12:00

This establishment recently claims to offer Japanese-ish like cuisine you can find anywhere where in Paris. Usually these establishments would be Chinese but this one is… maybe Indian? Can’t tell.

ATMOSPHERE The décor gives a vague nod to Japanese aesthetics, but it feels more like a mix of unrelated styles. The ambiance was pleasant enough, with dim lighting and neutral colors, but it lacked the refined, minimalist touch typical of authentic Japanese eateries.

FOOD

• APPETIZERS & SIDES:

Miso Soup One of the basics that a Japanese restaurant should nail, but this was disappointing. The soup was overly salty, masking any subtlety that miso usually brings. It felt more like a salty broth than a balanced miso soup. (Rating: 2/5)

Rice How can a Japanese restaurant not get rice right? The rice was bland and clumpy, with none of the fluffiness or slight stickiness you would expect. A major letdown. (Rating: 1.5/5)

Side Salad Generic and uninspired. The salad was basic lettuce and a few sad shreds of carrots… I would say but there was none, drenched in … nothing. (Rating: 2/5)

• MAIN COURSES:

Shirashi I've had a lot of Shirashi in my life, and I’ve never seen slices this thin. It was as if they were trying to save on ingredients by cutting them paper-thin. This took away from the texture and flavor that good fish should have. A very disappointing attempt. (Rating: 1.5/5)

Pokebawl The pokebawl had a decent presentation, but that’s about where the positives end. Again, the rice is a major letdown. (Rating: 2/5)

SERVICE: One of the few saving graces was the punctuality and smiling service. The restaurant opens on time, and they even let customers in 5-10 minutes early, which is a rare courtesy compared to some nearby places. However, while the staff was friendly, there wasn’t much interaction or enthusiasm, almost as if they were aware of the shortcomings.

CONCLUSION: I’m puzzled as to how this place earned a "UBER eats livraison étoilé" rating with 5 stars review from customers. I would maybe understand 3 or even 4 stars because my experience could be too harsh but 5 stars is impossible. The food lacks the authenticity and quality you would expect from a Sino/Japanese restaurant, with bland rice, overly salty miso, and sashimi so thin it felt like a bad joke. While I appreciate that they open on time and offer a bit of extra flexibility, it doesn’t make up for the lackluster dining experience. If they’re serious about presenting themselves as a Japanese eatery, there’s a lot of...
