Terrasse de l'Alcazar — Restaurant in Paris

I wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. What is published on the social media, in particular as regards the love night on Saturdays, looks really good. Indeed, the show has a lot of potential to make the night really fun. However, the way me and my 11 friends were treated yesterday is absolutely unacceptable. 2 weeks before we have reserved the table. I’ve called the restaurant 3/4 times to make sure everything was clear and we were getting a table in the room of the show where all of us could see it. On the same day I’ve called again. It was again guaranteed we would get that table. The reservation was at 22:30. 4 friends arrived a bit earlier, took our table and were invited to leave and go to the bar. I have arrived at 22:35 together with most of the group. I believe we can say we were “on time”. First, no one brings us to the table. I have a lady at the entrance really upset with me and pointing to a table like “don’t you see? This is the table just in front…”. I had difficulties in explaining to her that I could see the table but I did not know who were the people seated there - these were not my friends. They gave our table to another group, with no reason as the group was not even complete yet (this was the excuse they gave later). They send us all to the bar to transform a table in the corner for 8 people into a table of 12. We could not see the show as all the other tables in the same room. We were not seated comfortably - for one to get up the others had to stand as there was no enough space for 12. Almost midnight and the order was not yet even taken (no water / no bread / nothing). It looked cheap, felt cheap, briefly entertained at times, and the food was the worst I’ve EVER tasted.

We arrived for Love Night, not entirely sure what that was - as a €75 pp set menu, our standards were pretty low to begin with, but we’d read it was an entertaining evening.

The Show was a light-hearted, kinda fun drag show - Ru Paul would ‘sachet away’ the lack of any actual talent, apart from the last act - (s)he was a very good singer/rapper. Great at getting the crowd going.

The food was just the worst. Starter: My eggplant dish was baby food mush. My friend however said she enjoyed the ceviche fish. Credit where it’s due!

Main course: Imagine a bag of Carrefour Basics frozen mixed veg dropped into a pan of boiling unsalted water for 5 mins, loosely drained and then a packet of microwaved curry sauce is poured over it. That accurately describes my ‘vegan curry’. Zero cooking skills.

My friend’s poached salmon was served with curried mash potatoes (why?!) - the curry powder was still raw, like it hadn’t been cooked off first, but instead was just sprinkled over and mixed into the mash. Awful.

We left without our final drink because where we were sat had suddenly turned into an impromptu dance floor of hen...

Be aware of thieves at this place. I'm deeply disappointed to share my recent experience at this restaurant where I had my YSL purse stolen from my seat. The most frustrating part was the response from the staff which added insult to injury. When I approached them for help and requested to check the camera footage, they never got back to me with any updates or assistance. Moreover, the comment from our waiter when I let them know my bag was stolen was, 'you should always keep your eyes on your bag,' this is incredibly rude and dismissive, effectively placing the blame on me for the incident. This kind of customer service, or rather the lack thereof, is unacceptable and left me feeling frustrated and unsupported during a distressing situation.

I knew thieves and pickpockets were common in Paris, but I never expected my purse to be stolen from me at a restaurant like this, it was stolen at around 8 pm on a slow Thursday night, the restaurant wasn’t crowded and one of us was always at the table.
