We came here with very high expectations. With the good reviews and supposed high class Chinese food, our family was looking forward to a good meal. Now we know not to high standard when it came to traditional Chinese food in Europe but it's hard not to hope when I saw the reviews.
When we entered the restaurant and felt the air conditioning it was a relief to see the detail decor on the corridors. That was the high for this visit. We stood by the host table for 5-10 minute with the waiter walking back and forth without being seated. I finally had to force a waiter to come over and he had an aggressive facade gesturing us to the table next to the bathroom despite the restaurant being nearly empty. After we were sat down we were not greeted for another 10 minute even though I kept trying to wave him down. There weren't that many people there. Every time we try to wave him down he just gave us a curt nod. It got to the point my father was mad and started to wave down a different server who finally greeted us and gave us the menu and water. When we were ordering with our original waiter he was rude and curt. The food came and it was incredibly average. I would give service a -10 if I could.
This place is not cheap and the service should accompany the price tag. After our food came, which one of our dish was like chewing cloth, we tried to wave him down again for another bottle of water. He, again, gave a curt nod and we ended up getting water from the other server. The way he talk to us was incredibly degrading enough that I was fuming while sitting there.
Getting the cheque was troublesome too as we again had to wave him down a couple times.
This head waiter was wearing a tux and had glasses on. If you are reading this please know that we felt that you were rude and so was the lady who was behind the bar counter in a flower dress. We have flown around the world and ate at many classy Chinese restaurants and not once have I felt so degraded.
This restaurant had funny toothpicks. I guess that's worth something.
Terrible terrible service and average food. Please give yourself the respect you deserve and spend your...
Read moreI was so upset with their sommelier. I ordered a Chateau Haut-Marbuzet 2010 at 150 Euro, but he brought a 2014 vintage without any prior explanation at the same price. I complained he should have explained when I ordered, but he started to raise his voice and even argued with me that the 2010 vintage is too expensive to offer at the price. It's kind of a scam. I found that the retail price for 2010 vintage is 60 Euro, while 2014 is 35 Euro. 4-5 times more expensive?
No service attitude, no professional mindset, tried to cheat on tourists. The food and atmosphere were fair but I wouldn't...
Read moreI see people claim that it is pricey, and yes, it may cost slightly more than the cheapest option you can find; but it is also worth every penny!
Can highly recommend the Peking soup, as well as the selection of dumplings. The sommelier has a wide range of wines on offer, and a good understanding of which vintage goes well with your meal.
If you're looking to treat yourself to a great chinese meal in Paris, this is absolutely one of the...
