We didn’t have a reservation but we’re able to be seated at opening.

This was probably my favorite meal while visiting Paris! The poached eggs in red wine sauce with bacon and mushrooms was one of the best things I ate while in Paris. The flavors of the red wine sauce paired so well with the smokiness of the bacon and richness of the poached egg. It was stunning! I am still thinking about that dish!

I noticed the tables around us had ordered the bone marrow and after seeing them enjoy it,asked for one as well. It was rich and decadent! It Paired perfectly with the hot grilled crostini, however, I liked the house bread more. The house bread was thick and crusty and soaked up the sauce from the poached eggs perfectly. I also preferred the house bread with the bone marrow for the softness on the inside and the crunch of the exterior.

The escargot that we ordered was probably some of the best that we had on our trip. The butter they were cooked in was perfect, and they weren’t overdone or rubbery. They also paired nicely with the house bread.

Since we ordered three starters, we decided to share the entrée which was a ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce. We had ordered a medium rare steak, however it was more on the rare side. I’ve noticed that Medium rare in France is different than medium rare in America, but I prefer my meat a little more on the rare side so it was fine for us. For those that don’t like rare, I would suggest ordering medium. I really enjoyed the steak, but the peppercorn sauce is what made it fantastic. Having experienced a lot of French cuisine, I feel I can honestly say that this sauce has been perfected. The fact that I’m still thinking about the peppercorn sauce and the burgundy red wine sauce from the poached eggs speaks volumes about the chefs skill. The steak was served with crispy fries.

The two waiters we had were efficient and quick to serve. They made good recommendation for wine, refilled the bread basket more than once, kept water topped off, and were generally pleasant.

I really wanted to try one of the desserts but by the end of the meal I was so full I had to pass. It may have been that I ate too much bread, but the bread was totally worth it.

The food here is amazing. Hands-down the best meal I had in Paris. If you need over the top service and coddling this might not be the spot for you.

With that said, one of the odd things that happened while we were dining was when a separate single table was ordering and was going to order two main entrées the t-bone steak and steak tartar in addition to 12 escargot and the bone marrow. The waitress told him “no that is too much food, sir.” It was a little surprising and kind of funny because it’s not very common to be told no in a restaurant when ordering food. in America, they would be happy to continue running up your bill. However, the gentleman conceded and ultimately the waitress was correct because portions here are generous. From an outside perspective this could be what some consider as French being rude, but I took it as her being direct. The other odd thing was that she was taking the order from the counter and yelling across the restaurant which was odd and was not done to any other customer. So the whole front of the restaurant ultimately heard the conversation that transpired between them when he was told no that’s too much food. Most of the other waiters were coming to the table to take orders, but it didn’t diminish our dining experience. It just was different. This is a classic neighborhood bistro and it felt warm and cozy.

This felt like an authentic Parisian bistro and experience. I would return and...

Friday 15 December 2023 at 19h30 Food : 5/5 Excellent. Service : 1/5 Poor. Ambiance : 4/5 Very Good. Cleanliness : 4/5 Very Good. Value : 3/5 Good.

My dining experience was one of the worst that I have ever encountered in 20 years of international travel in over 30 countries. Globally terrible AND I am certified and speak at a B1 level in French.

Overall, I am just disgusted with the service of this place. I work for a luxury 4-star hotel within walking distance of this restaurant. After my terrible experience, I will not only not recommend this restaurant to my guests, but I will actively dis-persuade clients to not patron it.

My dining partner and I arrived at 19h30. The restaurant was empty except one pair of diners. Upon entering I greeted the server in French. The server does not greet us with “Bonsoir” or “Comment puis-je vous aider ?” No, I am greeted with (in French) “Do you have a reservation?” I apologize and ask is a reservation needed when we want to eat immediately. We just want a quick meal. The server says along the lines : good, because you will have to leave at 21h because we’re full by then.

I should have just stopped there and left. However, we were hungry and just wanted a quick meal.

We were then handed menus in English. I did not ask for an English menu.

We order.

It takes several attempts to get the server’s attention to order another glass of wine.

There were perhaps 3 pairs of diners at this point. Not a full room.

Later, around 20h40, I catch the server’s eye and motion for the bill. He ignores me and walks away. I then motion to another server. The second server presents the bill. I then politely ask, in French, about the price difference I notice. My rump steak was listed as €18 on the menu and € 21 on the bill.

The second server leaves, and the original server arrives. He places the bill on the table and simply says you need to pay. I again politely ask why the rump steak was listed as €18 on the menu and € 21 on the bill. He then motions to a menu in French hanging on the wall and states, the right prices are on the wall.

I state, we were served English menus, and we ordered with it. You never stated the prices may be different or incorrect, please reference the wall menu for the pricing. I ask for the € 3 to be removed to honor the presented price on the English menu. The server then smirks and says, it is only € 3, just pay it. I say, it is the principle. You presented me with a menu with incorrect pricing, therefore, I expect to pay what I viewed. I had no reason to cross-reference between my menu and the wall menu at the end of the room.

The discrepancy can only be accounted for three reasons:

1 - The manager is lazy and never updated the English menu. Shame on him or her because my pricing concern is entirely preventable.

2 – The manager is ignorant of the discrepancy and is therefore lacking an attention to detail that impacts clients. Poor team communication.

3 – The manager knows and is intentionally tricking non-French speakers into paying more.

I left so angry that I was shaking in fury. I have waited four days to write this review so that I may write is as objectively as possible and not in the heat of emotion. I hope you learn from my experience. Stay away. Patron a location more deserving of your time, money,...

Grabbed the name and reviews from a Google search of best French restaurants nearby. We didn’t have reservations but decided to give it a try anyway. The owner, or at least I assume he was an owner, sat us anyway but said he had a reservation for the table in an hour. I know what you’re thinking, an hour for a good French meal, L’impossible!

The ambiance is a quaint cozy and homey French restaurant, complete with shoulder to shoulder seating from table to table. The vibe was friendly, welcoming, and joyous. We had the feeling people there to relax and have a good meal with wine 🍷 and good company.

The food and the service were excellent. We ordered pate to start with our glass of red, but added a second appetizer when our neighbors suggested the poached eggs with pork belly in a savory sauce, Devine! The mains were delicious and the rice pudding with salted caramel topping was worth the price of admission, still dreaming about it! Yum.

All and all we had a full 3 courses, wine, and coffee and the owner never once made us feel rushed or less than completely welcomed, super classy.

This place rocks, would definitely return on my next trip to Paris, a definite must if you’re in the neighborhood and looking for a great French restaurant....

I absolutely loved my visit to Le Bizetro! The whole experience felt like stepping back into a more simple, charming Paris — warm, down-to-earth, and full of character. The food was wonderful. The lentils and bacon salad was one of my favorites — hearty, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The apple and pear dessert was simple yet so satisfying, the kind of dish that lingers in your memory. I also tried the snails and pork pâté, both of which were very much in the spirit of classic French cooking. Even the bread stood out — so fresh and just right alongside everything else. The vibe of the place is amazing: lively, authentic, and full of locals, which is always a great sign. The staff were amusing and warm, adding to the fun, relaxed atmosphere. It’s the kind of spot where you instantly feel comfortable and welcomed. This is not just a meal — it’s like traveling back in time to a more genuine Paris, where people are real, friendly, and grounded. Just be sure to book ahead, because it’s popular (and rightfully so!).
