What can I say! This was a dream come true! It was very hard if not impossible to find those old school cookies here in the US, so traveling to Europe and specifically to Paris, was an opportunity for us to stop by this beautiful store thanks to my beautiful wife who did her home work finding us the best spots in Europe, I personally found in this store the minute I walked in, the fragrance of the pain d’epices brought me back to my childhood, when my father first introduce me to this delicious treat, I fell in love with this bread and cookies ever since I start eating solid food as a kid, and it became a religion, but all these years that I’m relocated to America, it became impossible to find it, this store is one of the best stores in the world, the young lady who helped us was more than just a store associates, she was an angel, the smile didn’t leave her face the entire time while I was exploring the variety of items they carry, and the stories and questions I was asking her she was more than glad to answer. I wish I can remember her name, but this was summer of 2022. Comment résister à l'odeur envoûtante des pains d’épices Fortwenger ? Impossible ! Parce que c’est l’odeur de Noël - la magie imaginée, illustrée et réalisée par la famille Fortwenger ! On se laisse porter par un délicieux parfum cannellé mélangé aux aux notes magiques des fêtes de fin d'année : clous de girofle, gingembre, cardamome, coriandre, muscade… On rajoute à toute cette fantaisie des notes délicates d’agrumes et des fruits secs, un coeur doux fruité et sucré aux senteurs de vanille, ou peut-être fort, cacaoté et relevé par la puissance du chocolat ou du caramel.. À la dégustation, les délices de Noël sont vraiment excellentes. Le lieu est tout simplement magique et sent magnifiquement bon, mais que dire des délices de Noël .. ils m'ont ramené en enfance avec les odeurs et saveurs authentiques. C'est comme retrouver des gâteaux de grand-mère venant tout juste d'être sortis du four. C’est une vraie madeleine de Proust avec toutes les saveurs de Noël - pains d'épices aromatisés délicieux, bredele croustillants ou moelleux fondants en bouche, mannele, stollens moelleux, cœurs personnalisables en pains d’épices - un vrai régal ! Les oursons guimauve caramel - un vrai coup de cœur ! Ils ont également beaucoup d'idées cadeaux personnalisés et originaux.
