Waknine — Restaurant in Paris

My friend and I had dinner here this week. It was our last night in Paris and we couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. They do have a menu in English. The staff was lovely, our waiter was charming and the food was great, simple, in the best sense, and nicely prepared. I ordered steak and asked if it came with any sides. Our waiter said it came with a salad, but then also brought me a bowl of roasted potatoes, without charge, which were wonderful. He asked if I wanted ketchup, I guess he thinks all Americans like ketchup. I said no, of course! Over presentation better than food. Service was “ok” with highlight of the waitress dropping silverware on us and staining our clothes. The desserts were below average, definitely skip the crepe and crème brûlée which we had one bite. On top of it, check was incorrect and we got charged for cocktails we didn’t have.

Five of us tried out Waknine on a Thursday evening. The place was pretty full, people were having their cocktails on the street waiting to be seated. Decent atmosphere and friendly staffs.
