A terrible experience that resulted in 7 Police offers attending & a Scandal in the Street.
Initially we sat outside in the sunshine & had some French onion soup & drinks & everything was going well & our male English speaking waiter was tentative & efficient.
HOWEVER, we then moved inside to eat main meals where the general manager became our waitress - it went significantly down hill from there. Her behaviour was questionable in front of customers & you could tell immediately that she was not having a good day. We then observed her biting her nails & picking her ears before touching people’s food and drinks without washing her hands. At one point she even touched the French fries that slid off someone’s plate, pushing them back on.
Our main meals then arrived and we were immediately disappointed. The food did not look great & when it was examined further. The medium steak & burger was still running with blood & one of the chicken dishes was cold - thus, 3/4 dishes went back to the kitchen. The 4th meal was a chicken burger and you could tell the burger used was not good quality (it was like rubber). The 3 meals then came back out after not being away for long, they still appeared unappetising & it was clear the chicken dish had just been put in the microwave. Following this we had no further service from the waitress and or 2 waiters that were in the restaurant - they could all see we were not satisfied with the food and were not eating and they would glance over but not once were we approached. The manager then cleared the plates, we told her we were dissatisfied with the food & she just took the plates and put the food in the bin with no conversation or discussion around the issues. 5/10 minutes again passed with no communication and we asked for the bill. When the bill came we informed that we were not satisfied by the mains and would not be paying for them. There was then some back and forth for over 20 minutes which ended in the manager agreeing to take one meal off (the chicken dish that was cold and microwaved). We expressed our disappointment and disapproval of this noting that we did not wish to pay for any of the mains as the food was inedible. The manager then proceeded to threaten to call the police before doing so. In the meantime we paid for the starters & drinks and then the police arrived, which consisted of 2 cars & 7 officers (bare in mind we are 5 young girls who haven’t caused any issue other than stating we were not paying for the food we did not eat due to its poor quality). The manager was rude throughout the encounter & then stated we still must pay for all 4 mains as WE had caused a scandal in the street When it was all her doing…
Anyway, if you want poor quality food that looks like it could give you food poisoning- this is the venue for you.
We would...
Read moreWe booked for 2 for tonight and we were received really weirdly by one of the waiters who was clearly ready to leave at the end of his shift at 7pm. He told us he thought the staff was going to struggle tonight as there were too many clients there. It took ages for someone to come and take our order for drinks, the 2 waiters arrived just after 7pm, it just felt like the restaurant was short staffed tonight. We ordered the croquettes to start and we could tell they were supermarket bought, just the same we would buy from Tesco. The portion sizes are tiny. My partner had the cordon bleu and enjoyed it but it’s definitely not worth 18€!! I had the truffle coquillettes and I couldn’t taste any truffle, it was so dry. We didn’t try the desserts because we were quite disappointed and didn’t feel welcome at all in this restaurant. The waitress looked so unhappy to work here, and not smart at all with her black bra under her white shirt. A little bit of care for your appearance and for your clients is a must in a restaurant. It was clearly missing tonight. We are disappointed as this restaurant was recommended to us by our family. We will...
Read moreThe only reason they are getting stars is due to the cute ambiance of the restaurant. This is literally the worst meal I’ve had during my 10 days in France. I wish I would’ve read all of the other negative reviews before we ate here. We decided to try it as it was a very lovely environment. The french onion soup was a big gloppy cheese mess. My burger came out with sauce on it (even though I specifically ordered it with no sauce). They took it back and came back a minute later and swapped out the bottom bun with one from the freezer. Plus it was overcooked. The cordon bleu was horrible. The service was horrible and slow. There are many other options of lovely places in Reins to eat. Very...
