This is a glowing review. You just have to go see for yourself but read up if you need convincing. Authentic dim sum place. I am so happy to have found a legit dumplings place in Toulouse!! I know where to get my fix now. Covered exterior dinning area of maybe about 6 low tables, then 4 high tables for 2 persons. Small restaurant so reserve at least a day before especially on weekends. It doesn’t really give canteen vibes, it’s a proper dim sum place. Nothing bougie but not looking cheap neither. Their bowls, chopsticks and table napkins, even look chic. The website gave the feel that the restaurant was not going to disappoint, the website looked smart, efficient and chic. That’s what the resto seemed, smart and efficient w the open kitchen design but our clothes did not smell oil at all, unlike the other dim sum place I went. They only have 1 waitress for this small restaurant but it’s enough. She moves fast and efficient. I love that. Always with a smile..Very warm and friendly, super professional. Added bonus bonus is that she’s easy on the eyes. The raviolis were so good. Very tasty inside and not dry at all. The veggie gyoza was so yummy! The Xiao long Bao is very very good, it’s authentic! I wish it had a little bit more soup inside though, and that they had more options though, like in Din Tai Fung where they have my favorite Truffles Xiao Long Bao. The noodles were fantastic! Such a good dining experience. The Katsu (breaded chicken steak) in my chicken noodles is well made! Being from Japan, I was ecstatic to have this simple dish made to perfection! Even after being soaked, the breaded coating on the chicken has still some crisp to it..Which is how it should be done when you use Katsu as topping for udon or curry. The broth was clear and simple, nothing overpowering but yummy all the same. The Bokchoi vegetables was a good addition to the soup. Even the sides, Edamame and even just the rice was good! Nothing mediocre in this restaurant. All the food they presented on our table brought delight. I cannot wait to go back! Order the other things in the menu we haven’t tried. And looking forward to bringing more of my friends here and keep coming back for their dumplings. I see they were pretty busy with deliveries, totally earned and deserving not like the noodles 88 restaurant I recently went to. Jiao zi Guan is so much better for the same price. I wish this place all the best! It’s a new dim sum restaurant maybe just about a year..So I hope as they grow famous they won’t change the quality of food and service as most restaurants do when they get some...
Read moreThis has to be amongst the best dumplings place I have tried outside of China. Authentic and absolutely delicious, I have been now a frequent customer. All their dumplings are worth a try, but I highly recommend the steamed pork dumplings and the steamed Xialongbao (pork dumpling filled with soup, one of the restaurant’s specialities - this one is a must!) which are the only items I have been ordering lately as you just can’t get enough! Also do not hesitate to ask for their chilli oil (not very spicy) which truly adds another dimension to the flavor, making the dumplings 5x better. They also offer decent options other than dumplings but note that this restaurant really specializes in dumplings. They have a menu too but if you want to focus on dumplings and know which ones you like, it’s more economical choosing directly a la carte. The prices in general can add up to a generous bill but the dumplings are...
Read moreTried this Chinese spot in Toulouse and really enjoyed it overall. I had the prawn and chicken dumplings — they were a bit bland on their own, but the sauce they came with totally made up for it. The noodles with beef were amazing, and they were happy to give me some chilli oil when I asked (I like my noodles spicy), which was a nice touch.
For dessert, I tried mochi ice cream and another chewy rice cake dessert I wasn’t familiar with — both were tasty, but the rice cake one especially stood out. It was served hot, chewy, and just delicious.
The staff were friendly and easy to communicate with in English, which I appreciated. Only downside is that most of the seating is outdoors and quite close together, so it’s not the most comfortable setup if you’re dining solo. They do offer takeaway though, which could be a good option — I actually took my...
