The location is perfectly situated for the shuttle bus to and from the airport, the Novotel has excellent rooms and a lovely cocktail bar. You can explore the city by foot with ease and the nightlife is on your doorstep.

What's not to like about the Brasserie Capoul? Food Poisoning, that's what. Four days of agony and one of the worst flights back home that my partner and I have had to endure - ever.

How do I know the bland Swordfish steak or the equally bland beef tartar served by the rude waiter is to blame? Process of elimination and the time before we started showing symptoms. Also the only meal that we shared as a couple - the rest was shared with family and no sign of illness from anyone else.

Réservé aux habitués, sinon vous serez assis en face des toilettes. Nous avons déjeuné au Capoul hier, mardi, avec une réservation effectuée la veille. Au téléphone, je n'ai pas fait attention aux questions répétées "Avez-vous déjà réservé chez nous ?", non, enfin si, mais de passage 8 ans auparavant, l'interlocuteur reprend "un Anthony, peut-être ?", non toujours pas. "Alors nous n'avons rien d'enregistré. Je note pour demain". A notre arrivée, à 12h15 les trois quart de l'établissement étaient vide. J'indique notre réservation, et nous nous faisons conduire aux fins fonds du restaurant, à une table en face du panneau toilettes et contre le couloir d'accès à l'hôtel mitoyen. Soit le pire emplacement possible. Je précise que je n'avais fait aucune demande particulière de placement, notamment pas au calme, le but d'aller au restaurant est aussi de profiter de l'atmosphère. Ma maman faisait face à une cage d'escaliers et a assisté au défilé des clients aux toilettes, j'avais le dos en plein courant d'air provenant du couloir menant à l'hôtel... et le restaurant ne s'est jamais rempli. Bien entendu, nous aurions pu demander à changer d'emplacement, mais cela n'aurait pas dû être nécessaire. La place donnée était délibérée. A notre départ à 13h30, il restait plusieurs tables libres. Le repas était correct mais les conditions, peu agréables. La serveuse qui s'est occupée de nous est le seul bon souvenir que nous en garderons. Je n'ai jamais vu cela. Récemment arrivée à Toulouse, j'ignore combien de réservations sont nécessaires pour évoluer du fond vers l'avant du restaurant, mais je ne compte pas renouveler...

We were spontaneously seated as a group of 10 people. We were all served with hot food at the same time, what was really good. A few were complaining about the size of the dish (value for money), but I had a really great dish with fish and risotto in squid-ink (the parmesan chip is dark due to the ink, it was not burned!). I can really recommend to give it a try. Luckily we had a few people who helped to translate as the waiter was speaking french only. Keep in mind that it can get noisy outside...
