Ni'shimai — Restaurant in Toulouse

Not exactly legit Japanese street food tasting (I’m from Japan) but the vibe is very cute and Japan-esque. Food portion is small even for the not expensive price. The Donburi didn’t satisfy, unfortunately. The curry didn’t have enough meat, might as well have just made it at home with the Japanese curry mix from Paris store. The takoyaki and gyoza were okay though. Come here if you want the Japan street vibe, but stay away in summer as it is very hot, tables are very close to each other and there’s not enough...

Cela fait des années que nous venons dans cette petite échoppe avec mon conjoint. Nos deux dernières visites ont été extrêmement décevante. Dont celle d’hier. Nous arrivons avant même l’ouverture, la serveuse était vraiment pas agréable et nous a mis mon conjoint et moi assez mal a l’aise, ayant l’impression de déranger. En effet nous arrivons pour commander, ayant fait notre choix a l’avance juste avant l’ouverture. La moitié des choix n’étant finalement pas disponible. Annoncé de manière très abrupte de plus. « Non y’en a plus! » Même pas désolée rien, cela fait déjà deux fois que cela arrive et je me retrouve a manger finalement toujours le même plat. Etant végétarienne il ne reste finalement pas grand chose (sans bonite) Le temps de réflexion étant déjà trop long pour la serveuse que l’on sentait s’impatienter.

Pas déçue de mon plat puisque je mange toujours le même, vu qu’a chaque fois les plats sont en rupture.

Mon conjoint lui par contre prend des ramen de la cheffe sans déception non plus.

Mais le comportement de la serveuse nous a vraiment dérangé. Pareil je veux acheter vos stickers, évidemment rupture sur le signe voulu. Et toujours la même façon de répondre de manière abrupte.

Franchement déçue de nos dernières expériences.

I was attracted by the smell wafting out from their kitchen after my visit to the Couvent des Jacobins. So glad I let my curiousity get the better of me! Excellent food and a nice change from the run off the mill asian restaurant offerings. Seating for only 12 or so, so it might be best to try to come as soon as they open for their lunch or dinner services as they fill up fast. That said, it is absolutely worth the wait.
