If you ever find yourself near the center of Tbilisi with a craving for something hearty — say, a well-prepared lamb dish — and a warm, genuine welcome (a rarity in many local restaurants, let’s be honest), then this place is well worth a visit. The staff greets you with sincerity, and the meal ends with that rare feeling of wanting just a bit more.
We didn’t order much — still recovering from a previous dining misadventure — but what we did try left a strong impression. The lamb was tender, with a crisp edge and that unmistakable flavor that keeps bringing you back to the Caucasus. We also had a yogurt dish with grilled eggplant — versatile enough to serve as a sauce, but frankly good enough to enjoy on its own. It looked more generous in the menu photo than it appeared on the plate, but the flavor more than made up for the portion size.
All in all, a pleasantly memorable experience. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll gladly return — not for novelty, but for the comfort of knowing that something truly...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at Mangal in Tbilisi, Georgia. The meat wasn’t tough, which was good, but it tasted awful. The food took forever to arrive, and when it finally did, the bread was hard as a rock.
The service was the worst part. The staff was inattentive, and we had to ask multiple times for basic things like water and napkins.
The restaurant was also dirty and poorly maintained. Tables were sticky, and the overall atmosphere was unpleasant.
Don’t waste your time or money here. Go somewhere else. This place is a...
Read moreGreat good and excellent service. The most important thing about this superb restaurant is that it offers a very different menu to most other restaurants of the same kind. While the grilled meats are succulent and tasty (on top of being very generous portions), the menu includes a variety of dishes that we haven't seen anywhere else, like chicken cooked with apples, or slow cooked lamb (as well as other dishes). Salads are great too. All comes with excellent service and nice athmosphe. Highly recommended. (Service in English...
