Been here multiple times, enjoyed the food and left but this Wednesday... arrived and the place looked crowded, me and my friend asked the waitress if we could sit at one of the tables and the waitress literally screamed at us that she couldn't clean it up now and that she was all alone. She looked new, never seen her before but some proper training wouldn't hurt. Waited for half an hour to even order, i had to go and take the menus myself cuz noone would bring it to us. Finally, ordered and waited for a long long time. Asked the waitress what the hell was going on, she said she would check. Then our 3 friends texted me they were coming so I ordered food for them as well. They arrived in about an hour so we didn't have our food about 1.5 hours and even after they arrived, the food wouldn't arrive for another hour, not even the tea. Went there at 7:30 and we didn't have our food till 11:00PM. WORST OF THAT ALL: that impolite unprofessional waitress brought the food of the friends (which was ordered an hour later than the initial two) but "FORGOT TO PUT THE FIRST ORDER IN," which took ages to finally arrive. The waitress just kept smirking and shrugging, didn't even apologize. Came up with some BS and left, mentioning our food would arrive in 5m. Started eating at 11PM :). We had 5 different dish ordered plus Mexican fries, and only after the waitress delivered our meal, she told us that the jalapeno sauce wasn't on the menu, even though we've ordered it 10x :) . Paid the price in full, no discount, no apologies. SUPER disappointed, especially given how much time and money we've spend there...
Read moreI usually go to Tea House for my language lessons and order an espresso or kirkaddy (hibiscus drink), neither of which is particularly notable and, perhaps not surprisingly, kirkaddy is half the cost and twice as tasty in the Arabian Gulf countries. However, yesterday I ordered food that, overall, was delicious. Pumpkin soup was scrumptious followed by chicken cordon blue and pasta carbonara. Cordon bleu was in my estimate a 1/2 or 1/3 portion and was not prepared the way it should have been prepared as it lacked a slice of prosciutto in the middle and did not use Gouda cheese; it was also served sliced up rather than as a single cutlet. However, these criticisms aside, it was delicious. I was somewhat less impressed by the carbonara that used spaghetti in place of tagliatelle or egg noodle, did not have a whole egg in it and did not have enough bacon (yet I ordered an extra helping of bacon with it). The quantity was also too small; I would estimate 120-140 grams. Still, it tasted okay but I felt that I received a cheapened down version of this pasta. My verdict is that this is a good venue if you fancy a light lunch but not for dinner as portion sizes are too small. I would need to spend 150 lari to get a filling dinner at Tea House ordering triple potions of main courses and pastas. I think the chef at Tea House is talented but be prepared to wait 1/2 for main dishes. The wait-staff are normal...
