Everybody should experience buying wines like that. The place won't impress you with long aisles with vintage bottles with obscure names. No, that's not the way. The way is that when you enter you see gigantic temperature controlled vessels (being kept at 12.5 Celsius) with taps at the bottom. All the vessels have plates indicating type of grape, year of harvest and the winemaker. As in a real person - not a big faceless corporation. They do have bottles of course but why? Why do you need to pay for glass bottle and for sulfide in it when you can buy fully organic wine by liters? The room is well organized - it looks like a legit wine cellar. They have clean glasses all around the space for you to taste what they have on tap. If you like something - personnel will accommodate and poor 1, 1.5 or 2 liters of what you choose. But remember, as the wine leaves the vessel it starts to decay. Treat it like freshly baked bread - it is to be consumed promptly.
Oh, the prices! You better sit down. I'm yet to find a better deal in town. The priciest vintage on tap goes by 15...
Read moreI recently visited here with my family and while the establishment boasted an impressive collection and had the ambiance of a historic museum, I found the overall experience lacking. Unfortunately, the staff's demeanor left much to be desired. They came across as a bit rude and disinterested, treating us more like casual passersby rather than valued customers eager to explore the local wine culture. Despite our curiosity about the region's wines and our eagerness to learn more, the staff seemed uninterested in explaining or engaging with us.Although the wine gallery itself was visually appealing and offered a glimpse into the rich history of winemaking in the area, the lackluster customer service significantly dampened our experience. As a result, I would rate the customer service at 2 stars. However, I must acknowledge the quality of the rest of the experience, hence the 3-star rating for the ambiance and wine selection. Overall, while the wine gallery has its merits, the staff's attitude detracts from its...
Read moreHighly recommend this wine shop/cellar in Tbilisi. They have two storeys. The underground shop sell wine from the tap, and you can bring your own bottle and it’s very cheap. Thats how most Georgians buy wine. The above ground store sells by regular glass bottle. Both stores let you try as much as you want until you find a wine you like. And the underground portion is actually a wine cellar and has barrels of wine fermenting. I tried a lot of delicious wine there, but unfortunately cannot make purchase because I don’t have check in luggage with my flight. Eventually I bought a bottle at the airport, the same variety I tried at this wine store, but it costs 3 times more. So if you ever go to Georgia, definitely do wine tasting and explore their wine culture. You can get delicious natural wine there at a bargain price compared to anywhere in the...
