When I arrived, the waitress informed me that the only hot dishes available that evening were beans in a pot, khinkali, and khachapuri. I wasn't sure why, though I suspect the regular chef may not have been working that evening. Since I was hungry, I decided to give it a try and ordered pkhali, khinkali "qalaquri", and khachapuri "imeruli". Then the long wait began. There were only a few other tables occupied, yet all of us waited far longer than normal for our food. Some waiting time for the food seems to be common in Georgian restaurants, but here it was excessive. More than 45 minutes passed before my plate of pkhali arrived. The dish looked appealing, but unfortunately the raw garlic flavor was so overpowering that it was nearly inedible. The khinkalis that followed were acceptable, though one khinkali hadn't been properly sealed, causing all the broth to leak out. Also, the texture of the meat filling was a little off. Finally, I was served the wrong khachapuri. I had specifically ordered "imeruli", but instead received the "khachapuri on a skewer". When I pointed this out, the waitress appeared confused, and I didn't want to wait for them to make a new khachapuri. A few minutes later I saw the neighboring table receive a khachapuri "imeruli", so likely a mix-up. In the end, the skewered khachapuri turned out to be the highlight of the meal. Overall, the experience left me disappointed. The excessive waiting time, the poorly executed pkhali, and the service confusion outweighed the one good dish. While it's possible the regular chef wasn't working that evening, I don’t think I’ll be returning to...
Read moreI don’t normally post reviews but this has been the WORST restaurant dining experience I ever had in the whole country of Georgia!! THE STAFF WAS SO RUDE SPECIALLY THAT ONE LADY WITH BLACK LONG HAIR. She made our entire group so uncomfortable the whole time!! She was so rude to the point she was slamming tables and chairs in front of us just cause we asked her to move us to bigger table since we’re 8 tourists. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! 😡
The food tasted good, it’s just that the service is NOT GOOD AT ALL! It felt like we were bothering them the whole time! WE ARE A PAYING CUSTOMER!! If you’re not happy with serving customer, then why work there? She literally ruined our lunch. We were all so pissed. The management wasn’t doing anything at all. I could not explain my frustrations 😤😩
WE WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE! And I don’t recommend this place at all specially for tourists. Spend your money elsewhere! So unwelcoming and bad...
Read moreThis place deserves more credit in Google! We came here several times in the last week :-) The food is simply fantastic. Walk down the stairs to experience authentic Rachvelian food and tavern ambiance at a fair price. Hands down the best Mzwadi (try the bbq pork ribs) we have eaten outside Khakheti! Need some recommendations for a small group? Start with the tomato and walnut salad, Mchadis with cheese and a few Khinkali. If you really want, have a Khachapuri but you’ll be stuffed! Then follow with their unbelievable Mzwadi and home made french fries. Dont forget a pitcher or two of Khvanchkara wine and you will have trouble getting back up the stairs :-) Finally leave a nice tip for the friendly staff (their English is jot so great)! No pictures because we...
