Hello,
I'd like to address f byg's comment. I was with her. When we arrived at the café, we saw that a four-person table was about to be available, so we waited. However, the waitress decided to seat a just-arrived elderly couple there, so we didn't say anything. The woman suggested pulling the second table since we were only three, which was fine. After getting seated, the waitress gave the menu to the couple. We asked her to bring one for us too, but she ignored us (initially, we thought she didn't notice). For 10 minutes, we signaled her multiple times (we were short on time for our train), but she ignored us each time. Meanwhile, the couple kept staring at my friend (who is black) and me (South Asian). It was uncomfortable, but as we couldn't understand what they were saying, we decided not to draw conclusions. It was only when the waitress began talking to them and laughing while looking at us, that we decided it was too much. We stood up to leave. The waitress approached my other friend (who is white) and asked her if SHE want the menu. We chose to stay polite, wished them a good day, as we didn't want to stoop to their level.
It was our last day in Aachen, and we wanted a quick bite before catching our train, but going to that café turned out to be the...
Read moreI would like to share my great disappointment about the customer-service at this place. After we had our breakfast, we asked to pay by card. However, there was some issue with the credit card terminal, as it did not want to read my card and as a consequence it restarted itself. I showed this to the waitress after which she became enormously rude to me, blaming me for the fact that the terminal had to be restarted and asking me about what I had pressed/done with it. Here, I would like to make clear that the only thing I did, was to plug in my credit card, after which the machine restarted (which by the way looked rather outdated and not very well functioning). Regardless, the waitress was apparently very annoyed by the fact that I asked for help and that I wanted to pay my bill, so she started rumbling, grumbling, etc. which I consider rather unacceptable and unjustified behaviour...
Read moreThe last years we tried a lot of "caféhauses" in Aachen but without any doubt this Aachener Café Haus is the best in town! All the cakes are made fresh, the same for the cappuccino or other coffees. And you taste the love put in these cakes and drinks. For both of us Aachener Café Haus will stay in our hearts. Very important is also their prices. If you think you pay a lot for all their fresh cakes you are wrong. If you order a piece of cake with a cappuccino the price is even more cheap than expensive just because you get a big piece of cake and a beautiful cup of coffee. Last but not least the atmosphere is very relax and all employees are very honest and kind. Keep the good work and chapeau! Best Regards from Vaals. We visite your haus on friday 17 March...
