Café Dom — Restaurant in Aachen

One of the most unwelcoming experiences I’ve ever had at a café. We were a group of four — three adults and a toddler — simply looking for a place to grab a drink and for a quick toilet stop for our 3-year-old. At first, we were refused a table inside, even though several were free. We were told the table was reserved, although there was no sign indicating this. Fair enough, we moved outside and tried to sit in pairs at two separate tables for two.

Before we could even take our seats, the waitress told us we weren’t allowed to sit because we were “too many.” She herself seemed uncomfortable delivering the message, but still insisted we couldn’t stay — even though there were still several empty tables.

Fine then. I’ll happily spend my money elsewhere. I’ve been on this planet for 32 years and this is the first time I’ve felt so unwelcome at a café....

Everything about this place is just perfect from my perspective. Firstly, the location is spot on! Located near the Dom amidst cosy streets is a beautiful location. The food served here is delicious. We tried cappuccino coffee, Kakao, chocolate cake with mandeln and carrot cake. All of them were very good. The highlights are the cake - chocolate cake with mandeln had an intense chocolate flavour and was very rich in taste. Carrot cake was the highlight for me! Perfect taste! Both Kakao and cappuccino were decent. I would recommend this place for its cool vibe, great taste and perfect for spending quality time. The ambience is perfect if you're looking for a cosy cafe. They also had some Taylor Swift music in the background. Good...

I like this place and take my whole family there quite often. When I am in a group I never experienced any problems. Today I was alone.

I tried to order cappuccino before my appointment in an almost empty caffee (one table outside was occupied). First, i wasn’t allowed to finish sentence and was asked to order after I take a place. Ok, I seated. Turned out I can’t seat at the bigger table. And that’s ok, but why telling me that after I seated and turning your back without taking my order? 😂 did I have to wait again?
