The ambience of the venue is very laid back with warm lights and relaxing music, and even with a full cafe, it was still remarkably pleasant. The scent of coffee and sweets fills the entire building, with the attendants happy to serve you. The theme is African, as the coffee beans used there are from Africa, but the balance of the overall ambience makes it not so in-your-face.

The macchiato was intensely flavorful, and the freshness from the beans stands out above other comparable coffees in the area. The menu for their desserts are short, sweet, and simple, and all delicious.

The opportunity to purchase their fresh African coffee beans right there in the cafe is something that should not be skipped. Coffee from Tanzania is quite possibly the tastiest coffee in the entire world, and the folks at MAK Afrika provide it in three distinct (and exceedingly delicious) roasts. My personal favorite is their Kiboko (hippopotamus) variety brewed in a filter pot, but those who favor a slightly lighter taste will enjoy Rafiki (friend) and others may favor the extra-special Tanzanite roast. Top: Das Frühstücksangebot ist absolut vegetarierfreundlich und vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis wirklich super. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und man fühlt sich rundum wohl. Zudem ist der Kaffee absolut überragend und dank Latte-Art schön anzusehen. Aufgefallen ist auch, dass man sofort zu Beginn gratis Leitungswasser bekommt, unabhängig davon, was man bestellt.

Flop: Für die Chapati-Wraps wären schärfere Messer deutlich angenehmer gewesen und ein Dip oder eine Sauce hätten das Essen super ergänzt. Trotz vieler netter Dekoelemente wirkt es etwas kühl und könnte noch etwas gemütlicher sein. Eine Bezahlung am Tisch statt am Tresen wäre angenehmer und würde ggf. auch mehr Trinkgeld einbringen, weil man nicht zum Abschuss das...
