Bistro Ravi — Restaurant in Bamberg

I visited this place with 7 of my friends for lunch. The host/chef, who I think is Ravi, was very rude and made a lot of sarcastic remarks.

When we asked if a dish came with rice or naan, he sarcastically told us that "well, we can't put rice on pizza". This was just the tip of the iceberg on all the comments we had to deal with because we had placed the order and couldn't cancel.

The food portions was very less and they charged more than necessary. Mind you, we found better Indian food in a corner of Mallorca than this place.

The food we ordered first (which should have fed 8 people fully) hardly filled us. We had to order nearly the same amount again.

The food was over salted and when we ordered again, we requested him to reduce the salt. To which he asked us to use Jogurt as he was fine with the dish!

I don't know if he behaved this way because we were all Indians and was/is one too and he thinks it's ok to talk this way with us.

This is really the first time that we've paid over and above for bad food and even more horrible experience.

Probablement le pire restaurant indien du monde, qui n'a d'indien que le nom. Nous choisissons le menu New Delhi chicken affiché à 8.50€. Au moment de commander nous demandons au cuisinier si le plat est servi avec du riz, il nous répond d'un ton hautain et antipathique que tout est écrit sur le menu à l'extérieur, mais comme c'est écrit en Allemand et que nous ne parlons pas l'allemand, il aurait juste pu répondre à notre question de manière courtoise. Aussitôt nôtre plat commandé, il nous dit une fois de plus sur un ton désagréable voire agressif: "ne restez pas là, allez plus loin car les gens doivent pouvoir commander", alors que la rue était déserte et que nous regardions autour de nous si nous ne derangions personne, nous nous serions évidemment déplacés si un client se présentait, mais là encore le but du cuisiner était de montrer son autorité belliqueuse. Je suspecte qu'il préférait que les clients ne voient pas la cuisine de trop près car elle était effectivement très sale et une poêle était même rouillée. Au moment d'emporter le plat je remarque que celui-ci est très liquide, comme une soupe, alors que ce plat est censé être un curry épais. Lorsque nous avons commencé à manger le plat, mes soupçons se sont confirmés: les morceaux de curry nageaient dans une soupe âcre au goût infâme, c'est une honte pour la vraie cuisine indienne qui est incroyablement riche en saveurs. En mangeant le plat j'ai aussi retrouvé un morceau de métal dans la sauce du poulet, j'ai du tout jeter à la poubelle et je me suis aussi rendu compte que le cuisinier nous à fait payer 10€ alors que le plat est...

A small neat place, be ready for a good treat of indian cuisine. A limited menu, but everyone will find something soothing his taste bud. Though the Chef may seem unfriendly at the beginning, he is a genuine gentleman from Delhi and is open for a small talk too! Just don't start judging yet ! I would recommend this small treasure-hunt for everyone!
