Nice coffee and food, comfortable place to sit and eat and chill with a decent WiFi signal. Nice armchairs upstairs. Recommended for sure....
latest UPDATE.....had to take overall 2 stars off as for the last few months the WiFi has been terrible and the service is very inconsistent, ranging from "abrupt" to "rude" and as an example of this, several people I have taken there have expressed their displeasure and refused to come back, and they were German Berliners!
On top of that, the coffee preparation is not 5* anymore. Used to be my favourite cappuccino in Mitte, maybe in Berlin. They use the same coffee beans and equipment, so all I can say is the training is just not as good as it used to be as staff turnover seems high here.
Food is still pretty good but as I love a good cappuccino and with so many 5* cafés in Mitte alone, it's impossible to rate this a 5* anymore and even 4* seemed far too generous given the problems above. Not recommended until they deal with these issues....they are busy anyway, so the will to change remains doubtful.
It is possible the poor WiFi is deliberately planned that way to discourage people spending too long there with just a coffee, something they tried about a year ago and didn't work for long as they got so many complaints from regulars (like myself).
It's a pity.....I will try again soon to see if it has improved to their...

Nestled in a corner of Berlin, this place prides itself on its coffee and it shows; delicious, fresh-roasted blends, selected from the best sources. You won't want to stop at just the one. The food is excellent, flavourful, well-balanced, with fresh produce. I had the waffles, which left me pleasantly tingling and full, thanks to the fluffiness of the waffles, the crunchiness of the chickpeas, and the flavor of the chutney and herbs. That didn't stop me from trying my friends' food. The roasted aubergine is incredible, with a deep, smokey flavour, complimented by a vinaigrette and other roasted vegetables. The sardines (and I'm not usually a fan of fish) are wonderful, with a delicate taste that draws you in, complimented by capers, red cabbage, and poached eggs. But if we're talking of eggs, the Benedict eggs are a real star, in a peppercorn hollandaise and on a magnificent parmentier.
Beyond the food, the place is visually appealing, with a pleasant industrial decor, very comfortable music and atmosphere, and the staff are incredible helpful.

The place and service are generally great. But don't go here for Bacon Benedict. The bacon was soggy, it wasn't served on sour dough bread and - for a second time there - its not served with a hollandaise sauce but lots of butter instead. It remains unclear if that's due to a lack of ingredients (that was the explanation last time) or the customers are being lead on (thats what it seems like). I came to give a second chance and was very disappointed.
Comment to reply: What you are telling me and confirming is that you normally run out of hollandaise sauce on weekends. Instead of having someone head to the next supermarket nearby to get the simple ingredients for that sauce you keep offering customers something you don't have without informing them that you ran out. Instead butter is being served, hoping customers wont notice.
Now, instead of trying to win back a potential customer by inviting him to eat a dish that he already paid for twice but was never served you tell me that a hollandaise is rather available on weekdays and I could buy it a third time in hopes of it working out then.
So I guess it's no star for...
