19grams Schlesi — Restaurant in Berlin

I had a wonderful experience this past weekend at 19grams, it's always nice when girlfriends get together for brunch but actually what mattered this time was the "Where". From the minute you walk in, you're greeted and acknowledged, the whole Cafe is bathed in light and there are plenty of plants. The staff are competent and very accommodating, we were never ignored or left without water, almost like they could read each other's minds and had a rythym going without stressing out their customers. The food was delicious, we had ordered the granola, the pancackes and the eggs on toast (the bread is made in house by Chef Damon, no less and isn't your same old sourdough, Wich was really refreshing) and we kept swapping bites with each other and I gave in an ordered the panna cotta, wich was unlike any I'd had before with honeycomb, orange and Rosemary, it was heavenly. Pros: Place looks beautiful inside, spacious. service was ok-ish.

Cons: I ordered the mashed peas sourdough toas, but it has been a terrible choice.. the bread was extremely dry, it felt like I could easily choke while trying to chew.. I was able to have half of slice and even that was difficult. the mashed peas were extremely salty and without any flavor.. blunt, also dry. Maybe some lemon juice or lemon zest would add something to it.. I also had a cappuccino - very milky, and the coffee was quite sour, either over roasted or left out far too long..

Cute café place, located centrally close to Oberbaumbrücke/ Watergate/ U-Station Schlesisches Tor in Kreuzberg. The choice of coffee is great and the taste is specially good. Staff is mostly friendly (ladies more then gentlemen). Snacks offered are fresh and tasty. Prices aren't the cheapest. However, great place to enjoy a delicious coffee and get to experience the "people of Xberg". The place isn't too big, so not appropriate for group (3+).
