Read moreWent here twice, two days in a row and what stood out for me was the manner of the waiters and waitress on both the days.
Going to go into the description of the people who work there so that it gets the attention of the right people.
With the exception of one waiter (he was wearing a stud in one of his ears) everyone else was plain impolite and hostile. There was a waitress with glasses on who just couldn't stop staring at you with a grouchy resting face. Her face had this 'why is she here?' look whenever she looked at me. And there was this tall waiter with take-notice haircut and one could say that please, thank you, ma'am, sir and other polite words are not in his dictionary. Somehow all of them think not making an eye contact with the customer is okay. Even when tipping them they didn't bother to look in the eye and say a work of thank you. There was no smile, warmth or welcome in any of their faces and they had a 'I am better than you' attitude. But full props to the one other waiter (the one with a stud) for being a warm and friendly guy. It was because of him that we went there the second day.
Other than the sour waiters, everything else about this place is exceptionally good and the Punjabi Thali is to die for. Never had such a hearty meal. Would 💯 recommend this place...
Read moreWe ordered tradition indian foods like dosas, idlis, appams and chicken biryani - and none of them really stood upto par. For example, the dosas were mostly 'white' - much unlike the usual browning it gets that gives it the crisp taste, and they tasted quite bland. Weirdly enough the appams were too sweet, and they also came with a side-dish of sweet yogurt! We went there expecting a kickass biryani, but instead were greeted with a biryani that had a lot of 'hot-spice' but was otherwise quite flavourless. Biryanis are meant to have a burst of various flavours that makes them so special, but the dindigul biryani was a melange of Chilli, rice, a piece of chicken & an egg. even visually there wasnt anything kore (like curry leaves or bay leaves or the traditional coriander leaves). It looked like reddish brown rice thrown in with a small piece of chicken & an egg.
The service & the interiors were for the most excellent. I should add that since the kitchen opens up to the dining space, you end up getting a very strong smell all the aromas of the food being prepared in the kitchen.
It was overall quite a...
