Alte Münze — Restaurant in Berlin

The most unprofessional event venue I have ever worked with. In September 2022 I organized an international, educational conference for my client at Alte Munze and this is our experience: the communication in general was very poor and took a very long time to receive an answer, leading to many miscommunications and mistakes on the day of the event. I have been in contact with 4 different people before the event started and 80% of the time I had to repeat what was agreed previously. all the contracts were incomplete and contained financial mistakes (they tried to charge us too much) day before the event one of the rooms was still under construction! construction was also happening around the building (they have assured us it will be finished before the event) which resulted in many attendees and deliveries being lost we could not perform the technical check-ups before the event, cause the tech crew was busy with another event one of the technicians fell asleep during the event! there were constant technical issues occurring: flickering images, dead batteries in the mics, sound problems, electricity went off at some point in one of the rooms. the food was displayed 2hrs before the lunch and some of it got spoiled 2 toilets for over 300 people (one got broken in the middle of the event and took them 40min before they started repairing it) the venue on the day of the event was not ready and dirty (the cleaning crew finished preparing it when attendees were already in the building) no contact details to the floor manager were provided upfront and they have changed during the day without communicating it to us before the event no bins were placed in the venue, I had to ask for them another event was happening on the opposite site which resulted in: delaying the tech set-ups, interrupting the speakers and caused us to double check each person in the venue they closed the bar at 7 p.m. sharp when people were still enjoying themselves (we had no issue with them charging us for the extra time but no one has asked us about it).

Overall it was a very unpleasant experience that could have jeopardized the whole event, our income and the health of our attendees.

They have received our feedback very poorly as well, blamining us for most of the mistakes and issues.

I have organized events all over Europe and never had such a bad experience. I do not recommend this venue...

the venue’s staff is the most unwelcoming, hostile and sour i’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with at any arts event. i got frisked 4 times, 2 of them while i was already inside of the venue by the same staff member for no particular reason, while also having an attitude of a frustrated wannabe police officer. the rest of the staff kept a similar attitude throughout the event and even the promoters seemed to be frustrated and having arguments with the venue’s employees.

highly advise both promoters and attendees to avoid putting themselves through the ordeal of being treated in such a disrespectful and demeaning way for several hours...

War am 30.09. für einen Clubbesuch (CARV, Ko:lab, OMAKS) in der alten Münze. Eintritt 20€, standen ca. 30min in der Schlange mit Blick auf das rote Rathaus und den Fernsehturm. Waren 5 Jungs (2 u. 3) und kamen alle rein. Zwei floors (oben / unten). Oben sehr hell mit einer mittelmäßigen Anlage, unten sehr dunkel mit einer besseren Anlage aber auch viel Potential nach oben. Garderobe 1,50€ Bier + Wasser macht 8,00€ und darin sind 0,50€ Pfand je Flasche enthalten Es gibt nur wiederverschließbare Glasflaschen, die auf der Toilette mit Wasser befüllt werden können Play Areas mit Schaukel und folierten Möbeln, einzelne u. erhöhte kleine privat Bereiche, die mit einem Vorhang zugezogen werden können Viel Awareness und Menschen die einem weiterhelfen können Fast alle Menschen die wir dort getroffen haben waren deutschsprachig Die DJ Acts waren komplett kriminell und haben mich von 3-6:30 quer durch den Tanzbereich geschmettert. Ich habe noch nie so viel geschwitzt und hatte eine nasse Hose als ich nach Hause gefahren bin. Es war traumhaft und die alle Gäste die ich gesehen habe hatten sehr viel Spaß. Wie bei allen Techno Clubs in Berlin gilt auch hier der geduldete offene Drogenkonsum. Ein Freund hat im Club sein Unterhemd, Jacke, Bauchtasche, Handy und Haustürschlüssel verloren. Diese konnte er am darauffolgenden Tag glücklicherweise wieder abholen.

Waren dort von 1:00-8:30 und ich werde bei einem guten Line Up wiederkommen. Es hat mir Spaß gemacht bei dieser Location zu feiern auch wenn mich die Musikanlage nicht besonders...
