Just few minutes ago I went to this restaurant with my friend and we received horrible experience. We ordered chicken pakora, fried mutton mango lassi which isn't exist in bill and one Indian beer. Certainly my friend got a call and he must go right now. I request to the lady who was serving us what he ordered please pack it , he must go. After that a guy who was cooking he said you must stay out side and and go out. There is no control against corona situation . We were vaccinated we can seat inside. We go out and again enterd and showed them our vaccine certificate. I request them again just do it hurry and I wanna pay the bill. But the didn't understand me. I asked if you don't understand German then say it. I paid the total bill and left the restaurant without having my lunch. Even They didn't say sorry for this. Shamelessly he cash the bill. It means they are completely cheating with there customers. I spend my heard working money without having anything. Never again.......
Read moreAshoka is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Berlin (among other popular ones, like Agni, Yogi, etc). Whenever I am around Savignyplatz, I look forward to have some food here. The dishes are so spicy and delicious, my favourite being chole and sabzi. I feel that the quantity of rice is a bit less, so I prefer Roti and salad which are very good. Some of my European friends liked the Barfi sweet that they offer here, though I couldn't find it better or on par with the Barfis in India, but they are worth a try if you feel like popping a sweet in. Though it's a small restaurant, I liked the interiors. There are also tables outside, so depending on the weather, you can choose your place to sit. I haven't seen this place overcrowded so far, so I think it can be visited with family or friends without worrying too much...

It's heartwarming to support a family-owned business that brings such genuine flavors and culture to the table. A definite 5-star gem that I'll be returning to...
