Had the most bizarre exchange with a new(er?) barista there today, which is sad because this is one of my favorite neighborhood cafés with excellent coffee and focaccia sandwiches (with usually a very friendly, curly haired barista who puts me in a cheery mood).
But this barista (with reddish brown-blonde hair worn in a bun, working around 12:50) rang up 6.20€ for me, and I gave her 11.20€, expecting the 5€ change back. But instead she shut the cash register, so I told her that I gave her 11.20€ and that she owes me 5€ back. She gave me hella attitude and a super dirty look, asking me if I was sure. Uhh, yes, I'm 100% sure I gave you 11.20€ because I knew I don't have any 5€ bills.
Listen, if you're gonna work as a barista, know basic math and even if you don't and make a mistake, don't give the customer such a bad attitude because you yourself are so miserable with life... Really put me in a bad mood and will definitely not come back if they are...

Everything is done with great care: the coffee is just delicious, incredibly mild and full bodied at the same time. The focaccia come in 7 or 8 different varieties and the fennel salami one was really good. I like the fact that the owner doesn’t permit laptops. Enough spaces in Mitte cater to the laptop...
