Unfortunately, while this was previously one of my favorite bars in Berlin, I can no longer say the same after the owner was extremely rude to me and my companion, having refused to serve us (and even took back a beer he'd already poured for her, presumably to throw it away) after I very calmly expressed my surprise at being refused a third sample (those are smaller at Biererei than any I've seen at any other craft beer bar, and I frequent many in Berlin, though no longer this one) to try before committing to one of the 8/9 euro options on tap. I have absolutely no problem paying for quality, and do it in such bars several times a week, but I do have a problem with being treated in this manner, which is why I won't be going back and will discourage others from going there as well. I would have even continued my order after only being allowed two samples, but obviously that would not happen after being kicked out - and taking back my companion's order, he wasted a perfectly good beer to prove a point (so much for not wasting precious drops of beer on samples).

One of them also told me that there have been many complaints about Biererei, including of underpours.
Go to one of those other bars instead; they're just as good (and cheaper, if it matters to you), and will happily offer you more samples you don't even ask for to help you make your selection - and won't kick you out, certainly not for the crime of being interested in their...

Read moreI found beer paradise at Biererei in Berlin! 500+ different bottles, sorted by vintage. Not a place for the regular beer lover (because industrial lager & pilsners are the only beer you won't find here) but for the beer nerds instead! What I thought is stylish green decoration in the beer fridge is actually real moss, keeping the humidity at a perfect level. It feels like a chauffeured rolls royce limo into beer heaven... 💛
They have a printed menu, many beers in the 20-30 Euro bottle price range, most expensive are 52 Euro but the very competent bartender said the owners keep even more expensive special vintages and US imports exclusive to regulars only. They did have a 'growler' canning machine to take home one of the beers on tap.
Go there if you are into beer. Go now!
