Unfortunately, while this was previously one of my favorite bars in Berlin, I can no longer say the same after the owner was extremely rude to me and my companion, having refused to serve us (and even took back a beer he'd already poured for her, presumably to throw it away) after I very calmly expressed my surprise at being refused a third sample (those are smaller at Biererei than any I've seen at any other craft beer bar, and I frequent many in Berlin, though no longer this one) to try before committing to one of the 8/9 euro options on tap. I have absolutely no problem paying for quality, and do it in such bars several times a week, but I do have a problem with being treated in this manner, which is why I won't be going back and will discourage others from going there as well. I would have even continued my order after only being allowed two samples, but obviously that would not happen after being kicked out - and taking back my companion's order, he wasted a perfectly good beer to prove a point (so much for not wasting precious drops of beer on samples).

Incidentally, although I am a heavy word-of-mouth promoter of places I like, this is the first time I've ever been driven to write a review about any establishment online, because, never having been refused service anywhere, at any establishment, I feel the responsibility to protect other customers who appreciate fine craft beer from receiving this same treatment, which I've seen nowhere else - and so far the other craft beer bar owners I've spoken to in Berlin about this have been shocked by the behavior. One of them also told me that there have been many complaints about Biererei, including of underpours.

Go to one of those other bars instead; they're just as good (and cheaper, if it matters to you), and will happily offer you more samples you don't even ask for to help you make your selection - and won't kick you out, certainly not for the crime of being interested in their...

I found beer paradise at Biererei in Berlin! 500+ different bottles, sorted by vintage. Not a place for the regular beer lover (because industrial lager & pilsners are the only beer you won't find here) but for the beer nerds instead! What I thought is stylish green decoration in the beer fridge is actually real moss, keeping the humidity at a perfect level. It feels like a chauffeured rolls royce limo into beer heaven... 💛

They have a printed menu, many beers in the 20-30 Euro bottle price range, most expensive are 52 Euro but the very competent bartender said the owners keep even more expensive special vintages and US imports exclusive to regulars only. They did have a 'growler' canning machine to take home one of the beers on tap.

Go there if you are into beer. Go now!

Disclaimer: I'm not completely impartial, but own a craft beer bar called BEERHOUSE in Cape Town,...

Biererei, the best craft beer bar in Berlin… And beyond! <3 With an incredible selection of over 450 craft beers in cans and bottles from all around the world and an especially strong lineup from the USA (Tree House, Trillium, Other Half, Mortalis, Great Notion, Side Project, Fidens, Root + Branch, Tired Hands, Spanish Marie… just to name a few :)) you're guaranteed to find something new every visit. Many of these beers are almost impossible to find outside the US, making each visit a unique and exciting experience. On top of that, there are 20 fresh beers on tap, featuring a fantastic range from delicious lagers and mouthwatering IPAs to rich and boozy stouts. There's truly something for every palate. Cihan, the owner, is fantastic - his extensive knowledge of beers and willingness to help you select the perfect beer based on your taste preferences truly sets this place apart. His passion for craft beer is evident and adds a personal touch to the experience. The atmosphere is unbeatable, with a perfect blend of comfort and energy that makes you feel right at home. <3 And if you love rock and metal music, you'll be thrilled with the playlist. :) I've discovered sooo many great bands here, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my visits. If you're looking for an outstanding selection of craft beers, a welcoming atmosphere and great music, this place is a place for you! And if you’re looking for wine, keep walking. There are plenty of wine bars in Berlin. This is a craft beer bar, after-all! ;) Cheers!
