It will be really honest review with no hard feelings just as it is… so we were company of 8-9 people just after business dinner in Italian restaurant, we are all from HORECA industry and after BCB exibition. Many bartenders said that we should visit this nice bar and its a top place. so at about 11pm we went there on wednesday night. host said that he can not let us all in because they do not accept companies of more that 4 people, we said thats no problem we can split or other half can wait, he said no no bar is full and we do not accept more than 4pax at once. no problem, 4 of us went inside. we sat, got the menu, there is writen “cocktails from 16€, and thats it” . ordered pisco punch, mezcal cocktail and another drink. then head bartender came to us , still smoking a cigarette and holding it in the hand, that was awfull. He explained that no way he will let our friends inside, we asked maybe please let them in the bar but they can seat anywhere else, not even near to us, because bar was half empty (max 9 people were inside when we came), he said there is no way they will get inside what so ever, and it was explained in quiet a rude way, i honestly was shocked… and just so you know we were not drunk, unkind or anything like that. Later we recieved the drinks, they were awful, and not awful because of the service quality etc., but just not balanced. after we drunk cocktails they didnt asked if we liked the drinks and didnt even offer another one, seemed like they just wanted us to go away. interior is also just plain, not minimalistic, just weird. with all the respect and no any kind of hate this is one of the worst places i have been. It could be a totally different expierence if way of they communication with guest could be little bit nicer. I hope nobody will get such service as we did. 🙏🏻

DOES NOT ACCEPT CARD! Last night in Berlin and felt like I needed to punctuate that since every other place during my 3 day accepted card. Drinks were good and atmosphere was chill. I’m not a smoker and there was a lot of smoking here, but that seems to be more of the culture here in Berlin vs Texas so not that big of a deal to me. As we were closing out I placed my card on the handwritten ticket only to be told that they only accept cash. I’m obviously a foreigner so a heads up would have been nice. Maybe it was placed on the door/entrance and I missed it? Anyways, my partner left the bar to look for an ATM (one of the staff directed him toward one) while I'm waiting at the bar. Lesson learned I guess. Edit: the conversion rate was stupid and it turns out it was posted in small print, by the door to the left. I obviously didn’t pay much attention to the pictures on the door as well. You would think this caliber of a bar would take card.

We enjoyed a round of cocktails in the space and carefully chose a gin cocktail, which we believed to be the house's signature drink. It was exquisite. The bar's atmosphere is well-suited for couples, offering privacy, intimacy, and a relaxed environment that encourages conversation. It is an excellent venue for a potential date. The highlight of our experience was the quality of the drinks, coupled with the fact that the noise level was minimal, allowing for a comfortable conversation without shouting or eavesdropping on others. The dark and mysterious aesthetic of the place provides a welcome escape from screens. Contrary to what other reviews may suggest, we found the bartender to be very friendly, (Andre we send you kind regards). We ordered Atta Boy and 7something, forgot the name. Both great. Presentation discrete. We arrived at the bar at approximately 7 PM on a Friday and did not have to wait in line.

This was a lot of fun. It's a speakeasy style so the entrance is hard to find. Dont wear shorts. I couldn't get in the first time because (in German accent) "He has short red trousers on." But I dont give up so I went back a different night with jeans. My brother and friend went to see the band Rhye so I had the night to myself. I chose Buck and Breck. Alligator skin bartops. The spirits are inset in the bar. Big chainsaw on the wall. They had Al Green on the playlist.

I recommend the Ridgewood- a dry French vermouth with maraschino and woodruff absinthe. The Hermitage- dry gin with elderflower liquor. The Chinese lady- dry gin, chartreuse, grapefruit and orange bitters A French 750 gin, lemon, sugar, champagne A Corpse Reviver #2- dry gin, Kina l'avian, orange curaçao lemon absinthe Etc.

It has international barflys. To my right was an Italian man next to me telling me how Italy should sue Olive Garden. Told me there's no fettuccine Alfredo in Italy. To the left was a lady from Buenos Aires.

It starts out and people are keeping to themselves but eventually they warm up and you meet a lot of nice people there. Al the bartender signed my travel notebook. 5/5 or 10/10 recommended.

It's also mentioned in the list of finalists for top bars in Germany along Charles Schuman's bar in Munich. Buck and Breck is a great place to...

Going to this bar is an experience from the moment you press the doorbell by the flashing "closed" sign, hoping the doorman will let you in. The atmosphere is suitably dark and secretive for the "speakeasy" vibe, the drinks are noteworthy, and both the doorman and the bartender were unfailingly courteous. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail with the service, such as a never-empty water glass. I also appreciated both staff members taking the time to help me with the menu when I encountered some unfamiliar liquors and flavor profiles. I can definitely see this place becoming a tradition.

As other reviews have mentioned, you cannot use your phone inside the bar and it's cash only. The prices are comparable to similar bars in the US west coast or other large German cities.

If you wouldn't like someone smoking next to you, this is definitely not the bar for you.

If you don't like spirit-forward drinks, this is not the bar for you.

If you don't want wait too long for a seat, try coming on a weeknight or...
