Found this restaurant on yelp late on a Saturday afternoon. After reading the reviews, my wife and I were very interested to try the place. Luckily when I called, the gentleman I spoke to confirmed we would still be able to get seated without a reservation.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed a lot of frantic wait staff dashing around the restaurant attending to tables. After 2 different severs acknowledged us and forgot about us, a third sat us but oddly told us that we only have 1 hour to dine and there would be a charge for anything beyond that duration (contrary to the warm welcome I received on the phone.
The caesar salad and my wife’s pasta dishes were exactly what we came to the restaurant for- quintessential Italian fare that was well-executed. My sausage and mushroom pizza was definitely enjoyable, but I a bit far from the best-I’ve-had category.
In addition to the odd greeting we received when we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed service is not this place’s forte- very long wait times for food to arrive despite the time warning when we were seated and a server who checked in with us 3 times after paying to bill asking where the tip for the meal was.
Overall, I would normally be curious to try what else is on this menu and see what this kitchen is capable of, but I think the service that would go along with another meal is a...
Read moreThe food is good, unfortunately, all the rest and the service were really bad. We had a big event there, and from the very beginning, they put us at two separate tables without informing me beforehand during a call. Then, after I clarified this, we ordered drinks, and the waiters spilled a whole beer on me and my guests, causing us to spend two hours going back home to change because we were soaked with beer, and then returning to the restaurant. It took about a month of numerous emails, phone calls, and nearly involving a lawyer to get them to pay for the clothes that we sent for cleaning, which we had to arrange and pay for ourselves, including the taxi.
They eventually paid for the cleaning costs after about a month (after many calls and emails), as I mentioned, but the owner refused to cover the taxi expenses (for cleaning) or offer any compensation (except of dessert) for the time, the inconvenience during the event, or the aggravation caused. The waiter's excuse for spilling the beer was, 'I asked many times who ordered the beer, and no one answered.'
It was a very disappointing night that should have been a great event. So, if you go there, be careful not to encounter such bad service or get soaked with beer. If you want any reimbursement for cleaning services, it seems you'll need to pursue it...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Papa Pane di Sorrento that transported me straight to my beloved Italy with every bite. The experience began with a plate of incredible bruschetta. The bread was perfectly toasted, with a delightful crunch that complemented the fresh, flavorful tomatoes and fragrant basil. Each bite was a harmony of textures and tastes, reminiscent of the simplicity and elegance of true Italian cuisine.
The main course was equally enchanting. I ordered the salami pizza and a classic Margherita, both of which exceeded my expectations. The salami pizza was a masterpiece of rich, savory flavors, with the salami providing just the right amount of spice. The Margherita, however, was the star of the show. Its simple yet profound combination of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil instantly transported me to the sun-drenched beaches of Bari. Every mouthful felt like a gentle breeze on my cheeks, a sensory journey back to Italy.
The authenticity and quality of the food at this restaurant are truly remarkable. It’s a place where each dish tells a story, inviting you to savor the essence of Italy with every bite. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable Italian...
