I have not been to this place and I was just walking around Berlin that I saw this wonderful Café, All the people playing chess from beginners to professional while drinking beer. Unfortunately I did not have time to sit and enjoy a game with cold beer but hopefully next time I will do that.

Just randomly found it on google maps and it came out a very original chess cafe which is continuing since 1938. The owner guy (Sven) is very friendly and told me about his stories with Magnus Carlsen, Levon Aronian etc. Every Tuesday and Friday at 7 pm there are tournaments in the cafe.

The guy gave me attitude because I asked for a menu... It isn't a cafe really. It's a pub. I asked what non-alcoholic drinks they have and he listed the most mainstream banal soft drinks. He didn't want to let me sit down without ordering a drink first. I don't think he understands that he's operating a business in one of the trendiest places in Berlin. The competition is pretty high. Places like this can and should go out...
