We were pretty excited to be trying out Five Guys for the first time since we had heard such good things about it from our friends. Our experience was immediately soured within the first few minutes there. We ordered a couple of burgers and fries and my husband asked for a glass of water (Leitungswasser). He was told that no restaurant in Germany gives water, which is patently false. My husband told them as much and they repeated the same thing, so he asked "Don't you have water here?" and was told "If you want we can get you some water from the bathroom". I'm sure they have a tap somewhere else other than just in the bathroom. It was 32 degrees outside and we weren't just walking off the street asking for water, we were paying customers. The level of rudeness from the staff was completely unacceptable. Not only is the food majorly overpriced (a hamburger, without fries or a drink, will run you 7.95) but it wasn't even good. My bun was cold as if they had just pulled it from the fridge, as were the toppings. I have attached a picture to show what my hamburger look like when I unwrapped it. They might as well have pulled it out from the garbage. they are clearly catering to the tourists in the area and are not looking for repeat customers. My advice: stay away. There are far better burger joints in the...
Read moreCan't fault the food. But why is the front door locked? Why do I have to use a door the opposite side to the checkout so I have to walk though the whole restaurant, a door that's clearly labelled 'EXIT ONLY'? Why can't they at least put a sign on the door saying use the other door? There were a stream of customers all confused by the locked door situation.
Why was I told after getting to the checkout by the guy behind the counter that "he can't take my order". Ok, so what do you want me to do? There are other customers eating, I can clearly see you are open. Turns out all the checkout staff were elsewhere and that guy wasn't checkout staff but something else. The checkouts really should have someone on them, how else will you take customer money?
And what's the deal with the peanuts? At least put up a sign telling customers they can help themselves while waiting for their order. Or some kind of explanation.
All in all the usual good food, but a totally...
Read moreIt's an ok place if you need to grab a fast bite, we waited for the order and it's preparation probably up to 10 minutes, and it was at around 7pm. Don't expect anything extraordinary, since it's a standard fast food point, maybe a bit more messy looking imo, which probably gets that way because of people leaving things dirty after them. All outside tables were dirty, with napkins all over the ground, so we had to sit inside, found a decent looking table at the far end corner. This place offers maybe around 4-5 burgers, few hotdog 🌭 options, 3-4 sandwiches, fried cheese and fried potatoes from what i noticed, and juice or milkshakes. We brought a bacon cheeseburger 🍔 🥓, large bag of fries 🍟 and Cole (refill) and payed around 20 Euro, which i wouldn't call a cheap place for fast food. But, they put enough meat 🍖 in the burger, so you can be happy about it, yet burgers aren't any big. Fries...
