Inizio Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

Edit since response from owner: We are not friends with the other restaurant we recommended. That was just one other restaurant we visited during our short stay in Berlin. Simply trying to help others visiting Berlin from having same worst dining experience. And I'm normally very positive in my many reviews on Google so people can see I don't just review to complain but to advise. I'm just sad our last evening here was such a dining disappointment.

Original review: If you want nice Italian food don't come here. Go to Luardi close by. Much better food there and much better prices. This was very disappointing. First of all no wine card (though wine bottles all over the place for decoration, I guess) so we each just got a glass of the house wine. We then ordered starters and a main course. Starters were the mixed vegetables and the carpaccio. Both dishes were very large but very dull in taste. Even more disappointing were the main courses; the tagliatelle salmone and the beef fillet with rosemary potatoes and vegetables. The tagliatelle was large chunks of salmon and dry pasta. Not much eaten of that. Even worse was the beef dish. We asked for medium rare but got raw rare. We then asked to have the beef done more. Got it back and it was just as raw. They then didn't even bother to come and ask if everything was okay now and we were not able to get their attention. The potatoes and limp vegetables were near cold from the start. When a waiter was finally near by we just asked for the bill. The waiter could clearly see the beef was just as raw as before. She went away. We waited and waited. Another waiter then offered a new beef which we at that point naturally didn't want. He then went away. We waited and waited. He then came back with a dessert we hadn't been offered before and again naturally we didn't feel like that at that point. We then waited again some more. Then we finally got the bill. No consideration for the poor food and lack of attention. 92 EUR! So expensive for such poorly made food. And honestly, when something goes back to the kitchen at least they should follow up or be reachable. Shame on you. Peinlich und...

My running group and I came here the night before the Berlin Marathon. We were a party of 8. The waiter was inattentive, didn’t listen, and attempted to upsell us multiple times. We were arm twisted into expensive appetizer platters and were told that they couldn’t glasses of wine, only bottles. Then they showed up with glasses once we said nevermind to alcohol.

We had two vegans in our party and the restaurant was not very accommodating, teased them, and made them feel uncomfortable which is not normal for Berlin- a highly vegan friendly city. The waiter continued to push wine throughout the evening that we said no to.

Our entrees took over an hour and a half to come out which was problematic for people wanting to call it an early night since they were running early the next day. As an apology for the wait, the waiter tried to push shots of limoncello which we refused since we were all athletes. There was no deduction on the bill to make up for the slow and bad service.

The only time of the night that the waiter was attentive was when dropped off the bill which we wanted a moment to review since it was more than expected. While we waited forever for our meals, he couldn’t wait five minutes for us to discuss how we wanted to pay for the rip off mediocre at best food we waited 90 minutes for.

Would not recommend this place at all, especially for large groups or for people with dietary...

An unserem letzten Tag in Berlin waren wir auf der Suche, nach einem guten Italiener - anhand der Bewerutungen haben wir gedacht, wir hätten einen gefunden - dem war leider nicht so.

Das Restaurant war zu ca. 70% belegt, die Bestellung wurde scheinbar vom Chef de Service (grüne Krawatte) entgegengenommen - dieser lief aber schlussendlich einfach davon, da scheinbar sein Azubi ein Problem hatte und lies uns mit vor Erstaunung geöffneten Mündern sitzen. Nach einigen Minuten kam er zurück und machte weiter, als sei nichts gewesen!

Getränke waren dann grundsätzlich in Ordnung, statt Rosé wurde uns Rotwein gebracht, zusätzlich musste man mehrfach nach dem Mineralwasser fragen, welches uns dann endlich nach 15 Minuten doch noch erreichte. Die Vorspeisen selbst waren sehr gut, hervorzuheben auch der Mozzarella di Bufala, selten so guten Käse gegessen!

Das Personal selbst war während des ganzen Abends komplett überfordert, daraus resultierend sehr unaufmerksam. Gläser wurden nicht abgeräumt (wenn doch, wurde nicht gefragt, ob man "Nachschub" möchte), nicht verwendete Weingläser wurden von uns an den Rand gestellt, diese wurden dann auf dem frisch gedeckten Tisch wiederverwendet - was von mir aus gesehen nicht gerade für eine ordentliche Hygiene spricht (zusätzlich ging ein Kellner mit angezogener Schürze in die Herrentoilette).

Der Hauptgang war geschmacklich ebenfalls in Ordnung, jedoch waren die Teller nicht angewärmt, das Essen wurde sehr schnell kalt - vor allem beim Filet an Pfeffersauce problematisch. Ebenfalls musste beim vorher genannte Gericht die dazugehörenden Rosemarin-Kartoffeln nachverlangt werden, da schlicht und einfach nicht vorhanden.

Ein grösseres Problem stellt die nicht existente Weinkarte dar. Weine werden auf Nachfrage einfach gebracht, ohne über den Preis zu informieren. Auf Nachfrage beim zweiten Glas Rosé, "wie teuer denn der Wein sei", hiess es zwischen 7.50 und 8.50 Euro, das wisse er gerade nicht so genau. Von mir aus gesehen stellt dies ein grosses Problem mit der Transparenz dar, man kann dem Kunden nicht einfach etwas auftischen, ohne Ihn überhaupt zu informieren, wie teuer das Produkt ist.

Auf die anschliessend angebrachten Beschwerden wurde entschuldigend reagiert und hervorgebracht, dass man gerade einen Kollegen noch ausbilde.

Zusammenfassend werden wir dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen und können es auch niemandem Weiterempfehlen. Das Preis-/Leistungs Verhältnis ist nicht gegeben, das Essen zwar gut, der Service...
