First of all, I was visiting Berlin to meet up with some brazilian bass house artists. After a long day of work we decided to go check out the night lift scene in Berlin. Suicide Circus was one of the three clubs we visited that night. We spent about 2 hours there, although after the first five minutes it was easy to tell that this club was filled up with a bunch of teenagers. Which really killed the vibe. I read a comment further down where another person complained about the same thing and the club responded with "Well the rules for our club are 18+ so there shouldn't have been any underage kids inside. I am a DJ that spends nearly every single weekend in a club. I know how this business works and I know for sure that 75% of clubs never actually stand by what they say. You can say what you want but I would start off by checking ID. We were a group of very young looking guys and non of asked where even looked at twice. It was just if we had the money then we got in.
In addition to the first paragraph. After approximately two hours it was time for a bathroom break. Where there was some drunk creep messing around in the Women's bathroom. It seemed very annoying for both me and the women in the club. I tried to help the women getting pushed around in the toilet. But after trying to get him out he just pushed me and said "In Germany, we have unisex toilet." (Very Poor English) Shortly after attempting to get him out of the toilet security came where we were both pulled to the side. He asked the German guy a few questions and then the security guard grabbed me and pulled me straight out of the club with out saying a word to me. I turned around to try and talk to him and at least try to get my jacket and warn my friends I was being taken out of the club. But as soon as I turned around I was punched in the face where another security guard came to pull me out. My buddies had to get my jacket and after a quick bathroom break to wash the blood off of my face. We were on to the next club which actually turned out to be one hundred times better. So all in all, it was almost...
Read moreI was spending a week in Berlin as an UK tourist and based on mixed review of Berlin Techno scene I didn't know what to expect from Lokschuppen club. Because I'm a Techno fan, visiting Techno clubs was one of the main points during my visit in Berlin. Lokschuppen was actually the first club I went in to. I was wearing a typical black and little bit edgy clothes and went there on Tuesday night. The bouncer asked me for ID and let me in. The other staff who put a sticker on my phone was very friendly and talk to me straight in English. Inside the club was a little bit quiet with not that many people, but that was a Tuesday night so I wasn't surprised and the main room was close, but despite of that the atmosphere was great. There was enough people and it look like everyone inside was there for a reason. Everyone had a great time to the sounds of Techno music. Despite the fact that I had a great time there too, there was unfortunately one thing which was personally quite bad for me. I'm a non smoker but the club allows smoking inside. Don't know if you know, but the Germany also legalised ganja (Cannabis). The dance room which was open that night was actually an Open Air one, but unfortunately despite of that the air quality was horrible. I needed to move on the outskirts of dance floor to get a little bit of fresh air. So it was very hard to escape the smoke. But in general I had a great time there and I was surrounded by the great crowd. But if you are a non smoker you probably will not stay...
Read moreI was super excited to check this place out for the first time. However, I was quite disappointed to not even be let in. I very rarely have problems getting into a club. I am well behaved and sober waiting in line and my intentions when going out are to dance as much as possible and enjoy music of all kinds. After waiting quite some time in the cold, my friend and I made it up to the bouncer. She had a problem with me before I even said anything. Her tone towards me was very hostile and it felt as though she was interrogating me. Despite the fact that she did not question ANY of the people in front of me, I answered all of her questions politely and honestly (if I’d been there before, why I was there, etc). I am not one to complain and often give people the benefit of the doubt but the way in which she denied my friend and I was very unjustified. My friend also noticed her rude behavior, mentioning how it seemed she just didn’t like me and was looking for any reason to deny me entry. I was really hoping to have a great night here, especially since I had several other friends attending as well. I am not sure if I’ll bother with this club again considering all the other friendly and welcoming clubs in the area where I have never encountered...
