I saw this place recommended on instagram, but it absolutely did not live up to the hype. Thai noodle soup is actually my favourite dish since I have lived in Thailand for a year and ate it almost every single day, which made this experience even more upsetting.
We ordered one boat noodle soup, one tom yum soup and one vegetarian soup with tofu. The broth of the first two was almost identical when it should have tasted distinctly different. The boat noodle soup was missing all of the savoury flavour components that usually come with the addition of pig’s blood and spices in the broth. The tom yum soup just tasted like a mixture of lemon juice and sugar, no additional flavours from the meat and weirdly artificial. Unfortunately, the veggie soup tasted like nothing, at most like store-bought vegetable broth.
Waiting time was long, although the place wasn’t even packed when we arrived. One of the soups came 20 minutes later than the other two and it seems that the waitress forgot about this order. It was missing all the usual toppings that come with the soup, so it is possible that they had to rush and put it all together quickly, forgetting about the fresh herbs and everything else in the process. Other than that, service was very friendly though.
We shared a starter of crispy pork belly which was delicious!
Considering the taste and quality of the dishes, the prices are unreasonably high and not fair at all.
Lastly, the atmosphere of the place was not too inviting, we sat in the backyard next to the trash cans which produced a bothersome smell and the bathroom door leaves a gap when someone tries to open it, letting everyone see inside.
Overall, I really do not recommend this place. Very sad, considering I was looking forward to finally tasting my favourite Thai noodle...
Read moreI’ve been there with my brother and have to say the staff is not the nicest. My brother has a peanut allergy and we explicitly said to our waitress that he cannot eat peanuts because of his allergies. His allergies are very heavy and he really could die from eating a whole peanut, what we actually also said. Sadly one of the dishes still came with peanuts. We blame it on communication issues because she didn’t speak German very well. But sadly this is not my biggest complaint here. After that we had to call the emergency and when we talked to another waitress she forced us to pay the whole meal (we barely touched the rest because of his allergic reaction). I was discussing with the waitress, telling her I can not understand why we have to pay everything… after a (way to long discussion and an ambulance later) she forced us to pay for two dishes.. which we did at the end.
I also talked to the original owner and they heard from the incident and apologized. If you’re eating out and telling the waitress/waiter to consider your allergies the least thing I personally expect is in this case a dish without peanuts containing. I know that she struggled communicating with us but u really ask you to train your staff!!!! This could have saved us the trip to the hospital.. all the people we talked to, including the Rettungssanitäter:innen said we should sue them but we decided not to.. I am writing this review so that others are being warned and mindful when...
Read moreSaw the restaurant featured on social media and was really disappointed. It started with the "prawn" dumpling, which when I bit into it was clearly meat with no prawn. As you can see on the menu the only ingredient listed is prawn. Another customer next to us experienced the same thing. When we asked about it the server said it has pork and just said that they are printing new menus, no apology. Thankfully we weren't charged. As a lifelong pescatarian, this was unacceptable. This is false advertising and can be extremely problematic for people who do not eat pork for health or religious reasons.
Next the main course. I ordered the pink seafood noodle soup. The squid was so chewy I couldn't eat it, clearly the seafood, fish tofu and fish balls were all frozen. The rice noodles were also clearly from a package. For a dish that felt like it was entirely made from store bought ingredients, I was disappointed to pay 14euros. The bill for 2 soups and two drinks was 42euros, overpriced for what you get. The chili on the table is extremely spicy, so be careful.
The bathroom is right next to the kitchen and has a sliding door which doesn't afford much privacy. The light is also very dim so it's hard to...
