Q: How much do you like Marubi’s ramen? A: YESSSS lol, I’ve been a frequent at Marubi, tbh the food and price and service everything is just on point 5/5 for sure. As someone from Northwest region of China aka the noodle provinces, I had hard time finding good noodle place in berlin, like homemade type noodle that’s chewy and warms your stomach. For me Marubi really out did themselves, the fresh noodle is JUST LIKE the ones I’d get daily at local market back in China, and pretty much comparable with the fresh Japanese ones too, e.g the famous Michelin starred ramen shop I’ve had back in Paris. I get some ppl mentioning the soup not thick enough or whatever, I feel like that’s not very fair as this is not that type of noodle/ramen house, the ones they’re referring to is more like a thick consistent type broth (which a lot shop literally just added starch to make it thick anyways😅), the Marubi style soup base is legit bone broth as you can see from the kitchen counter that the BIG pot is literally boiling throughout the day, so trust me the nutritions you need is more than enough in that broth, or you could try make bone broth at home and you’d know what I’m talking about. Anywaysss, LOVE LOVE LOVE the place and ppl and food ofc, hope ppl see my comments can enjoy it...
Read moreI wasn't particularly impressed with this place however this can maybe be to my personal taste buds.
I found the menu a bit confusing, which made it difficult to navigate. I opted for the ramen, as it seemed to be the most popular dish, but since I’m not a big fan of ramen, it didn’t quite work for me. The broth was overly salty, with the flavor of soy sauce dominating to the point where I couldn’t taste the beef, onion, garlic or anything except for that and the seaweed. However, I acknowledge that my preference for ramen might differ from the typical experience, so this could be in line with what the dish is intended to taste like. Hence I think my opinion may be biased. But the dumplings were also kind of meh, i didn’t finish it. The filling was bland and dough felt overcooked. No matter the amount of chili oil could save that dish unfortunately. That said, I did enjoy the egg, which was a nice touch.
On the other hand, the person I was with ordered the noodles (I believe it was number "73") and absolutely loved it. I tasted it and it was alright but I wouldn’t go there again. The beers were excellent, and the starters offered a great variety. The service was also friendly...
Read moreThe food was so bad I never intended to go back, but the restaurant had the nerve to serve me a second take-down notice after I updated my original 1-star review to provide more details about what I didn't like about their ramen.
So I went back to see if they'd maybe got a new cook, or changed anything up. But 5 years later the ramen is as bad as I remember the first time around. They should invest more time in improving their cooking, rather than trying to manipulate their Google ratings.
I don't normally go around giving terrible reviews to restaurants, but honestly eating instant ramen at home would be better than their Chashu Ramen and it's irritating that this restaurant has such a high rating simply because they have a social media manager who is issuing take-down notices to all the negative reviews.
The broth of the ramen was watery and bad and the noodles were overcooked. This is more of a pan-asian restaurant offering a mix of a few well known Japanese and Chinese dishes. I wouldn't call it a ramen restaurant.
I stand by the 1 star review I...
